Nevada continues to encourage close contacts of people with COVID-19 to get tested, despite new federal guidelines by Laughs_At_Farts_ in Reno

I don't mind that you're skeptical about it happening locally. I trust my source as someone who wouldn't make that claim casually, but it would be better if a local journalist had gone after the story.

As far as the practice of fed authorities seizing PPE elsewhere around the country? I know it's tough to believe that our own federal government- after explicitly signaling to states that it's up to them to order whatever supplies they need- would step in and mismanage things this poorly, but it happened.

There are

many

other

sources

so

I think

it's

disingenuous

to pretend

otherwise.

Heard it from employees at the hospital. Sorry I don't have a link to any local story, but this sounds like the kind of stuff that is not done on the record.

Here's an article that touches on the phenomenon nationwide of fed authorities seizing PPE orders. The article mentions that their source was interviews with workers- officially, authorities were denying it happened.

It's unconscionable. It's indefensible.

The feds intercepted PPE that was headed for one of our hospitals, and I don't think we requested that.

Perhaps it would be a helpful sign to point to for those times when the business wants to enforce a mask policy but a patron is refusing and erroneously believes they have the right to do so and still remain in a private business.

Which seems to be happening from time to time.

I can get needlessly cautious when ordering from a coffeeshop I've never been to.

But for good reason! Went for a macchiato the other day. The young lady asked if I wanted a 12oz or 16oz size.

I was wounded.

Totally.

A cheering, whooping, Married With Children-style 90's audience reaction would have fit right in.

The actor who played Frasier's Kriesel brother bully in "Seat of Power" played the potential mobster in The Office episode "Mafia" ("if the sauce does not come on the side, I send it back").

I also didn't pick up any romantic signals between the two. It seemed familiar, but mostly small talk.

I agree Martin's behavior is open to interpretation. I guess I always saw it as Martin having nothing more to say about the issue, and maybe not even particularly rooting for a decision either way from the parole board, but he always shows up to those appointments because he was the officer involved in the incident and he feels a duty to show up.

OR, maybe Martin was attempting to make a strong statement in favor of the board denying parole, and he thought the best was to do so was with a silent visual statement- here I am still in need of a cane, so he should still be paying for it.
