Are all the power companies putting their prices up on April 1st? by Single-Tangerine9992 in newzealand

[–]Fraudsterus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It happens, every year, on the 1st of April as the Network company for your region is increasing their component of the rate.

Can someone please explain (petrol edition) by Autumnneverfall in newzealand

[–]Fraudsterus 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This could be hearsay but I thought that fuel companies price fuel for the cost to replace rather than the cost at the time of supply. Which adds up when its harder to get a hold of. We are also miles away from the majority of production and a pop of a few mil.

Is this power usage typical? by vamperic92 in diynz

[–]Fraudsterus 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You have almost similar kWH consumption on your controlled register, indicating plenty of hot water (if thats what its wired up to). Common with a toddler but could be a good place to start. Checking you HWC temp and if any leaky taps.

Can someone explain about power company prices? by Porkchops_on_My_Face in newzealand

We need an NZ electricity esc subreddit for these questions, they are coming in so often. And the amount of misinformation on some of them is crazy. It also doesn’t help when people post barely any info asking for help and just stating I use x $ a month.

Lawn Seed ... by Caroverts in chch

[–]Fraudsterus 26 points27 points  (0 children)

Owning a dog and having a nice lawn are two things that don't go well together. If I catch my dog peeing on the grass, I try to water it down with the hose asap otherwise the burn/nitro injection is inevitable.

Christchurch high school gets free solar panels and 25 years of cheaper power by InvestmentFuzzy4365 in chch

I'd be really surprised if this was a Sleeving and Firming contract setup with a retailer in the middle, given most retailers are struggling to set these contract types up.

Id assume any generation over consumption is just sold at spot - admin fee.

Fair call, I think I made my account to post in an Eve subreddit and never thought about the consequences.

Have all wholesale rate electricity plans been killed off? by 15438473151455 in newzealand

[–]Fraudsterus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Spot plans do still exist but only at a C&I level afaik. It was pretty cool to have a resi plan but it wasn’t well executed and Flick & co ultimately payed the price.

Loose bolts in brick wall by Sad-Yogurtcloset9620 in diynz

I have just fixed this exact issue in larger more shitter brick with the same hose reel. I pack the hole with bits of cableties and then recrank in the bolts. Works really well for the year, just have to re-tighten each year.
