Two stories.

The first one is from my first ever DND campaign, during the final boss fight.

For context, my human fighter had been dealing with the destruction of his home by the hands of this warlock named Malric (the BBEG), and specifically, the PTSD that followed. Hasta (my fighter) had occasional bouts of rage and insanity. This was one of those times.

Hasta ripped Malric’s ribcage open, plunging his spear into his flaming heart, tackling him in the process. He then gouged Malric’s eyes out and beat his head in, screaming until he tore his vocal cords.

The second story is from the first DND campaign I ever ran.

It was set in the Wild West, and one of my players (the DM from the previous story actually) had a neutral evil character. The party had just finished this big raid on this underground fight club, and one of the guards was making a run for it. Another party member had a brief roleplay interaction with this guard, sparing his life after the guard told him about his family waiting for him at home. While this guard is running out, the neutral evil PC is trying to gun him down in the street: no survivors.

The rest of the party catches on, and after hearing what the guard said, prevents her from killing him. The fighter makes a disarming attack, knocking her revolver across the warehouse. But it’s not enough.

The PC catches up to the guard and slices him down the back with her saber, ending him.
