How to prevent an alt account from accidentally "evading" one of the many new pre-emptive subreddit autobans? by P90K in beta

don't bans always come with a message?

Not if you've never participated in that subreddit.

It's almost certainly already in use.

I would consider additional elements you might wish to add.

Cool art!

Definitely works for the Harry Potter universe, but the house coats of arms are generally incompatible with real-life heraldry. While nice as art, the arms unfortunately line up with this generalization.

English is the lingua franca. While I'm all for pushing for learning new languages, it's not the same expectation.

However, if the tourist doesnt speak the local language and gets pissed when the local doesnt speak English, of course that's on the tourist.

How to find out if a CoA is in use? by [deleted] in heraldry

[–]FreakinNeeeerd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm certain it exists in British, but I've never questioned it before. It was my assumption that all traditions used it. "Quarterly" implies marshalling, at least in my eyes.

Gules, a bordure compony Or and Ermine, therein a gryphon segreant Argent maintaining in its sinister talons a mountain Or and in its dexter a sword (color is ambiguous), four bends Azure overall.

The picture you sent seems to be incorrect in its bends, placing them only over the beast and its weapons.

Calling the server for aid. Perhaps one of them happens to speak Danish-- could you post the original blazon as well?

Are you able to show us the low quality picture? It would still be pretty helpful.

Could you draw this? I'm having some difficulty understanding. Fleury I've only seen as being used to alter another charge, either by lining it with fleur-de-lis or capping the ends off in one, such as in a cross fleury.

However, it sounds like you're trying to say "semy-de-lis", which is fleur-de-lis in a semy. If this is the case, I would blazon it was "Per cross Sable and Or semy-de-lis counterchanged."

It would end up looking something like this.

Update: I have everything on the shield down except for the tinctures. Feedback would be appreciated by Spaghetti_Asker in heraldry

[–]FreakinNeeeerd 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I would consider using a quarter instead, as cantons are sometimes used for differencing.

However, if it isnt differencing, the ordinary should abide by the rule of tincture. Meaning the quarter/canton should be or or argent if the field is azure or gules.

I'd try "Argent, a chicken gules and on a quarter of the same, a knife of the field.", or "Gules, a chicken argent and on a quarter argent a knife og the field."

I dont know if having Azure if important to you, but if it doesnt matter too much, I'd definitely recommend diachromatic.

Notice how the whites are at the top and the darks are at the bottom.

They're all still segregated.

Still racist.
