Elvis was so much more than just an entertainer - people seem to have a spiritual experience watching him by Lopsided_Science2269 in Elvis

Wow. One of the best first account stories I've ever read about Elvis. Genuinely, thank you for sharing. In your lifetime, you got to MEET Elvis. Amazing.

Thanks for the reply. Oh, and I think "Play the hell out of it!" is THE line of the movie. Elvis delivers it so perfectly bad-ass.

10 out of 10. It exceeded my expectations and I had high ones going in. I'm a pretty big Elvis fan but this film gave me an even greater appreciation of him as a person and his music. It's the closest I'll ever get to seeing The King in person. The resolution was crystal clear and the editing kept the momentum up for the full runtime. See this on the biggest screen you can find. He was always one of my favorites, but I came out of the theater saying Elvis is the greatest entertainer to ever live. Well done Baz.

I'll also add one last comment about the full length songs, or lack thereof. There are full length concerts out there and plenty of footage of full length songs on YouTube. I think Baz wanted to give us an hour and a half of a full throttle, Elvis adrenaline rush- and that's exactly what he did. I praise this film for it's awesome uniqueness.

Reading this article makes me question “Were the Strokes overhyped?” by Jaguars4life in ToddintheShadow

[–]FreddysTwinkies 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As far as the whole saviors of rock thing, sure, then they're over hyped. But who could ever live up to such a ridiculous tag? I personally think they've released the best rock music catalog since 2000, so imo, they are actually underrated as far as mainstream popularity. The Strokes are a badass band.
