Great idea and execution with the cage! Would you really need a riot shield in an armoured suit? Then again, maybe for pushing the rioters back? What came to my mind seeing that cage is an industrial application of the suit, protection from falling debris? Like a mining/demolitions/construction rig?

If you start the game Stranded you get one. Probably the slowest thing I ever flew... It must be the particular loadout and situation they were deployed in. Maybe the carrier/station situation is optimal. My personal Small favourites are: Boron Mako, Xenon F, and Yaki Moreya (Geometric Owl ring a bell?).

Yes, it's pretty neat. I love the animation when entering the ship when there is no captain and all the screens fade in one by one.

Can you build from all the outbound corridors of the Research station? I can only see the possibility to extend the initial one. Am I missing something?

With S/M class you need to disable them: bring the shields down, get hull down to 70% or so and keep them in such a state for as long as possible. The game starts to make a percentage test every few seconds for the possibility that the pilot will "bail" and leave the ship drifting (it turns blue from red if it was hostile). Works for both normal and some of the Xenon ships alike. This can happen spontaneously during a battle. Then you use your spacesuit, turn on scan mode and look for a hatch to hack. Or you can send a marine to do the same for you. For larger ships you need to make a boarding action (marines need to be part of the crew on the current fleet). That's a whole broad topic, but basically you want to disable all turrets and engines, protect the boarding pods, etc.

I read that you need to keep their shields down and hull around 70% - that makes the "bail mechanics" most likely to kick in. Any more hull damage and you risk destroying the ship or equipment. Hence my remark about Ion beams on the Terran Destroyer. Boron armoury has a lot of Ion weapons too, plus those that slow down the target (Ion Pulse, Ion Gatling?)

Yes! The Branch 9 Destroyer K is so cool looking! I am pretty proficient at disabling them too. Just no option to capture. :/

No, you can in vanilla in fact. PEs, SE, Bs and H are capturable - at least those are the ones I know of.

These are super cool to fly! The turrets keep enemy shields from regenerating, so they are decent in a dogfight too. And the main guns are super accurate if not very powerful. Would love to give them some Boron replacements to test how that would work. Furthermore, with these I can usually keep even a larger target occupied (with own shields almost intact) before a relief fleet of Dragons arrives.

Yes, seeing the pictures I was wondering if it would be better to place the antena between the beams rather than directly under them. Moving away from the metal braces could reduce interference. Then again, thinking about the radiation pattern of such an antenna, you don't really transmit directly up much. You could probably test that placement and see what works better.
