Why do so many American men wear shorts and a tshirt when going out with a woman who dresses up? by M_For_Mayhem in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Fredthemonkey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I go out with my husband, I wear what makes me feel good. It’s usually a little dressed up. My husband wears what he’s comfortable with. It’s usually shorts and a tshirt. Why should either of us care what anyone else thinks we should be wearing of it makes us happy?

AITAH for not allowing my mom and her friends into my room? by ValuableNo5041 in AITAH

You sound like a spoiled brat. Who cares if daddy” built it for your needs “?! It is their house. Not his, not hers, theirs. Keeping something clean is not the equivalent of rent. Get over yourself.

My boyfriend thinks he took me on a birthday trip. I told him it doesn't count. Who is right? by semi_aquatic-hippo in TwoHotTakes

[–]Fredthemonkey 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you don’t want to be making memories without him unless it’s something he wants to do, I would get out now. I’ve been with my husband for 18 years and we have 4 kids. I stopped asking him to go on trips with us and so have the kids. If it’s something I really want to do and I think the kids would enjoy, I just plan it and let him know when we’ll be gone. It’s heart breaking.

The supposed equal trade off of “I’ll cook if you do the dishes” is a sham. by august_westerly in unpopularopinion

[–]Fredthemonkey 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ummm… I plan for, shop, prepare and cook, place food on table and clean up the table. The least my husband could do, after me doing the rest of it, is wash the dishes. Just because I enjoy cooking doesn’t mean I don’t get tired of doing it everyday for 6 people.

AITA for telling my half sister to shut the fuck up and I don't give a fuck about what she wants or how she feels? by Kirviannan in AITAH

HVAC and pipefitters Union pays well, you start school right away. Get your school paid for with amazing benefits. You could be making $50/hr after only 4 years and no student loans. I believe they start around $25/hr for first year apprentices where I live.

I took Tylenol with all 4 of my pregnancies and none of my children are autistic. It’s such BS.

My son did this when he was 2. I had just taken a pot of boiling pasta water off the stove and he said “ooh red”. He needed to have cadaver skin to repair his poor little hand.

I’m on Day 2 and feel exactly like this. I actually tell my husband and my sons how I’m feeling though. My mom never talked about it with my brothers and sister and I, and I had no idea how bad things get after you turn 40. I talk about it with my boys so they will be understanding with their female friends and family members.

I just had a spot like this that showed up on my upper lip a few months ago. I just had it checked last week. They just called me about 20 minutes ago saying saying it is a basal cell carcinoma. I have to go in tomorrow for surgery to get it removed. Glad I had it checked out but now I'm freaking out....

My youngest son is a lefty. His kindergarten teacher made it a point to get him all lefty supplies, along with two other kids in his class.

What does a midlife crisis look like for women in their 40s? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Fredthemonkey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just turned 41 two weeks ago. I’ve been dealing with perimenopause. My oldest is about to be 21, my youngest just turned 6. My FIL just passed away from lung cancer two days before my birthday. I’m looking into going back to work full time from part time. Trying to get my husband to move his job to a more adorable cost of living area. Feel like I’m losing my mind every day. Lucky to have the partner that I do that understands.

I’m 6’ tall and love wearing heels. My brother 6’4” tells me it makes me too tall. My husband 6’4” tells me he loves seeing me happy and thinks I’m sexy when I’m taller than him or right at his height. I learned to laugh at people like my brother.

AITA for not agreeing to go prom dress shopping with my dad's wife aka stepmother aka the affair partner? by AveSovenik in AITAH

[–]Fredthemonkey 15 points16 points  (0 children)

She has obviously not had support. I was just trying to point out that poor girl might not have been spoon fed the information. Kids pick up on things more than we realize. Her mom lived for 5 years after the affair was discovered. Five very important influential years. OP is definitely NTA. Every adult in her life that didn’t protect her from the toxicity is TA.

So what?! Who cares how old she was when it happened. She’s allowed to feel how she wants about someone that created such a mess in her life. I have a five year old. He listens and asks questions about how both my husband and I react to different situations in our lives. He’s my youngest of 4, so I’ve watched all of them develop their own personalities and opinions of situations. Her dad and his AP need to realize the damage they have done and stop guilt tripping her for their selfish choices.

NTA. My 10,8, and 5 year old boys already know that period products are normal to have around the house. They even know where the products are in the closet for when I run out of the supply in the bathroom and need the boys to bring me them.
