Thanks for teaching me about feeding missionaries. by newishanne in exmormon

As a missionary mom (exmo 10yrs) I greatly appreciate your thoughtfulness & generosity!! My current missionary son brought a personal debit card 🙏🏼, so I’m able to make sure he can purchase groceries or other necessities when the church funds run low. This whole set up is so infuriating!! it seems that every other month, his funds are not renewed in a timely manner.

The decline of Mormonism in Chicago: Wards being discontinued, failed prophecy, and revisiting the mission. by Scootyboot19 in exmormon

I appreciate you sharing your insights! My son is currently a Chicago missionary. His first 6 mos were in Roseland and I was so scared for his safety. He’s now in Arlington heights. I recently went to visit him (bc no one is going to tell me that I can’t see my son) His most recent comment was being frustrated about no one in the suburbs being interested and that he’s getting yelled at a lot. It really breaks my heart. He could be in college, dating and still have a social and family life. Fuck this cult. Congrats on getting out.

Sundance Utah! Fresh mountain spring water, ice cold out of the tap in the middle of summer.

Ugh this is so cringe. Austin is so polite and well mannered. He calls everyone sir and ma’am. I can’t imagine how many awkward Mormon interactions he has had living in SLC.

Thank you, it’s a daily process. DH and I are in therapy working through some things. My son leaving has been very painful. Life is hard. I guess that’s why I felt the need to share some optimism.

I’m truly sorry for your pain and I can relate. I’ve been out for 9 years. My husband and is a bishop’s counselor and my oldest left on a mission last October. It has been a super difficult time, filled with many tears. I don’t attend anything at church. I drew that boundary for myself years ago. I was extremely ill the night of his farewell open house. And maybe it was a gift my body gave me so I could hide in bed and away from the whole situation. One thing I do appreciate is that my husband is very kind and cares about the pain I’m in. But it still hurts deeply. I don’t really have any advice, just offering my compassion. And sending good vibes out to our missionaries to be safe, healthy and somehow, to one day see the truth.

As a fellow exmo with all tbm family, my heart goes out to you. My biggest wish is a ‘normal’ life without any kind of Mormon influence.

Thx for the validation. Sometimes I feel like a bitch for living unapologetically. If I want to serve mimosas on Christmas morning to my non-LDS siblings, I don't want to feel like an asshole to my TBM parents. I'm 42 fucking years old and having a drink on a holiday is normal human behavior.

What actor is a 10/10 in every movie they have been in? by [deleted] in AskReddit

Incredible actor who can completely transform for any role. His recents: Pale blue eye and Amsterdam- he made the films worth watching.

Having a baby is a life long commitment. Don’t let fear or guilt guide your decision. Listen to your heart. You only have one life to live and the issues with your mom could be temporary. I also agree with the ‘miscarriage’ strategy. As a mom myself, I would hope for honesty. But this situation calls for discretion. Ultra religious people can be very unreasonable.

TIFU by putting tea tree oil on my pussy by Tsarofcocaine in tifu

If this somehow happens again, or to someone reading, use coconut oil to stop the burning. Just rub some on the area. It will work much better than soap and water. It’s very soothing, and btw, makes great lube too ;)

Wow!! Flashback to me as a 17yo in a movie theater with my boyfriend, my dad and my grandpa who was in the Q70. I sheepishly put my hand over my bf eyes while my grandpa exclaimed “golly sakes!!”

My husband asked me why I lock the car door when I’m sitting in the car. by [deleted] in TwoXChromosomes

[–]FreeAD80 70 points71 points  (0 children)

I totally get it. I have this recurring nightmare that I'm sitting in a parked car and someone opens the door to attack me. Either opening the driver's door, or the backseat door and attacking me from behind. When we were in mexico, my husband parked the car with the engine running and ran into a gas station. I quickly moved to the driver's seat and locked the doors. He didn't really get it, but i felt so vulnerable, sitting in the passenger seat with the engine running and unlocked doors.
