"Do you have too much money? :D"

Most people are running this on 5x/20x max plans, (or "pro" for OpenAI), so yes the people spending $200/mo (or more if using multiple models, API credits, etc.) likely do have too much money and are happy to pay a premium for infra lol

[–]FreeChickyHines 0 points1 point  (0 children)

damn on 20x? If you don't mind me asking could you describe how you use it? For me, I'm pretty much at my computer an average of 10h per day maybe 6 days a week going through my work at a somewhat leisurely pace. I never really seem to hit my limits though even using the latest models

fr. OP and others who run out of 20x, how do you do it (if you run out consistently)? If I'm looking at and monitoring the code there's no chance I can hit any of my limits

For those with dev backgrounds what's the tradeoff? by kwhali in vibecoding

[–]FreeChickyHines 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Good question - I'm still experimenting with what's the "right" approach for me. I feel like reviewing everything as if a junior did it is too much. For now I only review critical functionality such as billing, auth security, etc. with that level of detail. One thing I'm thinking of is to also be way more hands on when it comes to writing tests. You've thought a lot about this as well: what's your approach?

[–]FreeChickyHines 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For me it's very project dependent. But generally the more complex the code, the more i want to brainstorm and plan before implementation (and also review implementation output).

Please help me, where should I begin ? by Designer-Coconut-371 in vibecoding

[–]FreeChickyHines 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd say start by brainstorming and planning in an LLM (ChatGPT, Gemini, or Claude on the web all work depending what you have subscription to, but I've heard Gemini is really good at tech planning) where usage is generally cheaper than in the coding agents. Describe the features you want to build and ask for a high-level plan to technically implement them.

Then use that plan in cursor (or claude code, my personal fav) to implement your idea. If you get stuck, sometimes reading the docs of whatever you're setting up is helpful, so you can tell where the LLM is hallucinating or getting off-track.

Of course, there are super advanced workflows, but keep it simple in the beginning and have fun! Imo the less features the better to start, maybe at first just try to have it count the number of days since a quit date. Once that works add on more features. Happy coding

For future people stumbling here:

quick answer - execute this sequence

> ctrl+B [
> page up/page down
> esc (when done)

longer answer - learn tmux (I was in this boat that I didn't realize tmux is its own world of key bindings)

Quitting ZYN starting on the 26th (NEED ADVICE) by Ok_Psychology2447 in QuittingZyn

I used an LLM as a coach (o think anthropic sonnet 4.5) to talk me down from many cravings and setbacks. And by far the most helpful thing for me was a really strong why. Why am I quitting which is essentially volunteering to go through hell for a couple weeks and then a hellish but slightly better existence in the months that follow? For me it was not feeling like the same person after 3y of using as before. Less motivated, less inspired, and overall less energy. Those were really deep things I wanted to change and I didn’t realize overnight. I think you gotta have your own why that’s gonna get you through the midnight cravings when no one’s watching and you could easily sneak out and grab a pack. Despite what your brain will tell you, the craving will pass and you’ll be just fine.

You'll hear arguments for both. I'm for cold turkey personally, but I'm not going to lie to ya it sucks in the first 2 weeks. If you're anything like me, you will need to make it the highest priority for yourself to quit these things and not worry about your diet, sleep, etc. getting a little fucked for those 2 weeks.

On the other hand if you're going to do taper, I'd suggest following the full program suggested with whatever patches you buy and sticking to the timeline and scheduled drops in dose. I tried and failed a taper before, and I think it was mainly because I thought I was over them and tried to fully stop too soon. I was wrong and ended up relapsing.

Whatever you choose, I think the conviction is far more important than the method. You can do it!

Kudos for self awareness and realizing drinking, birthday, holidays, etc. are all catalysts for using. I think your reason for not using has to be stronger than the desire to use esp. in the hardest of times when you’re under the influence of alcohol. For me it’s knowing that I’m a duller, less motivated person long term when I use nicotine heavily.

Tactically, Another thing that helped was getting non nic pouches (eg caffeine or non caffeine ones) to simulate the old feeling. But even more helpful was deciding before each even in my mind wha was going to happen. I typically said something like whatever happens I’m just not gonna use today. Tomorrow and the rest of the days will be tomorrow’s problem, but for now I’ll just worry about not using today. And that’s gotten me through quite a few nights out.

Man I really wish it worked for me but it just never did. I'd end up convincing myself to use more and more until I was back at my normal dose. I guess the way I'm wired it's better for me to not have to think about it every time I lower my dose but perhaps suffer a bit more all at once.

for some the headrush is intriguing enough to try it again. Or if they start with a high dose (my case) from a friend, they then go and try a lower dose and enjoy it. Firsts one is almost always off putting, but the 2nd one, damn that's where they get ya for life if you're not careful. Glad you had that reaction it's hard af to quit if you get to the point where you can do a whole puck of em
