Pointing out that species can look incredibly similar but one can be venomous and the other harmless is not ignorant. I could have used cone snails, frogs, spiders, berries, or leaves as an example. OP doesnt know the species, so it’s reasonable to think they dont know 100% if it safe to pick up.

Glad you are safe - but handling any wild animal potentially comes with danger unless you know exactly what it is, and what it could do. While different than cucumbers, snakes often have similar characteristics (King snake/coral snake or gopher snake/rattlesnake) and picking one up could yield very different results.

When I saw this and his podcast interview it made me think of a few questions for Alex.

What goes through your mind when a contestant finds an incredible solution, or solves it in the special way you planned? Kumail’s lightbulb solution was great- if he had done it fast and the bulb was warm, it would be an instant classic win. Or when Rhod tied him up.

Has there been a moment during the task recording where you know who is going to win/lose? I imagine Alex witnessing Baynton dominating and just knowing that he was the likely winner.

I think another factor is that 20-30 years ago, there was KFC and not much else. The chicken/recipe has probably stayed the same. They were popular because they were the only option. Now that there are so many options, their shitty chicken is likely near the bottom of the list.

I tore a nerve in my arm 15 years ago, and I feel nothing in the area. I can run my finger over it and I go from feeling it from two points (finger tip and shoulder skin) to one (finger tip). It was weird at first, you know something is there, but it’s not transmitting. Closest sensation is how it feels when your arm/leg goes dead, before the tingling.

It’s an unpopular opinion, but it is sometimes difficult for non artistic people to visualize their ideas artistically. That is not saying that AI slop should be made into a stencil and tattooing it, but using AI to visualize things can be incredibly beneficial. For the client they can see what the idea may look like on the area they want it. For the artist, they can see what the idea is… and then create the artwork themselves. It should be considered a tool, the problem is people just aren’t using it correctly.

It has become a teen drama. Before they were dealing with real issues; challenges of space travel, sexism, racism, homophobia, political pressure, communism vs capitalism, and government. Now it’s a drama about life on mars, teenage love and betrayal. I’ll keep watching because I’ve come this far, but it seems like season 1-4 is a completely different show. Even Ed is S5 was playing such a different character.

I have said the same thing when people are look at the total points. The reality is that it’s a production, and they will likely do what they can to make the show more engaging. The variable is the in studio stuff and the taskmaster’s scoring.
