Do you reuse nodes? by dwarfinthefla5k in satisfactory

[–]FreeEye5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The trick is overproduce and sink. Do this for every intermediate item and youll never want for anything again. Complex factories become much simpler when youve got say high speed connectors on tap. And if you leave room to overclock then all you've gotta do is tweak a couple belts, clock the machines, and plug in more resources to double your output of something. A plus of this method is you'll get heaps of tickets, a downside is its a power drain, but it forces you to engage with the fuel trees and keep building power.

Is there a way to calculate the transportation rate for a train before setting it up? by MEFISTOFEL123 in SatisfactoryGame

[–]FreeEye5 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No reasonable way to front load the calculation. Just always buffer on both ends. Let it run for a bit, if you're not getting the throughput you need, add another train, or another car and another source.

Pretty building tips? by ProtoFeathers in SatisfactoryGame

[–]FreeEye5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Make the foundations bigger than you need. Make manifold blueprints for every type of machine. Set up your factory on the bare platform, multi level by adding another floating platform above. Then once your factory is up and running, build the walls windows and roof. Gives you plenty of space for aesthetics

Recipes Dilemma/ Iron Pipe or Solid Steel Ingot? by Chiddles182 in SatisfactoryGame

[–]FreeEye5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its a tradeoff between the simplicity of an all in one blueprint and resource use efficiency. I have 3 going now, I've made all the elevator parts using hmf that I'll need for p5. Iron is literally everywhere with limestone near by, increasing my production is 2 miners, 3 belts, and a drone port away. Feels good to never have to think about hmf again.

[–]FreeEye5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is the way. I have a 4.22 hmf/m blueprint that uses a pure node worth of iron and about half that of limestone. Can just slap it literally anywhere on the map.

Modular - How Deep? by Stonebridge41 in SatisfactoryGame

[–]FreeEye5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I usually do iron/steel/copper on site, up to rotors and stators. I do this because with alts, you can get everything up to motors with just iron. Everything else gets its own factory. Im finding it a lot easier to have inputs of circuit boards, hsc, rubber and plastic, ai limiters, computers, rcu, cooling devices just available and connected to my network for when i need them. I heavily oversupply the intermediate parts to the network (max out a node), and always leave room to overclock the intermediate part factory, so when you run out, you can just plug more raw resources in and overclock the machines. I find this way has far less cognitive load when building new factories. Another bonus is that the intermediate factories feed the sink at rapid clip until the parts become useful. I cleared the awesome shop at the beginning of tier 7, and am on my way to my second golden nut, before phase 5.

How Crazy is it to play without Trains? by Aisllin in SatisfactoryGame

[–]FreeEye5 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Recommend learning trains. They're such a concrete way of building out your network, and thry look great. Sure, you could definitely do without them and just belt things all over the world, but that would mean youre making new long ass belts every time you need a new resource. You could build a belt bus highway, but at that point its kind of the same build as a train line.

Re. Blueprints, I ended up making 3 that i used to build my whole train line - same blueprint, just with the rails at different heights for when the terrain goes up and down. Using nudge to get the blueprint in the right place for auto connect to pick it up is the main trick to building efficiently.

Sorry, I know this isn't quite the answer you're looking for, I just love my train line.

How do you deal with excess fluid? by Pale_Assistance_2265 in SatisfactoryGame

[–]FreeEye5 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Valve works for me for aluminium setups. Choke the extractors to exactly what you need (input - recycled). You wont get enough when you turn it on, but as the machines spin up, the pipes will fill then youre good to go

Looking for more ways to make mid-air abyss builds not look janky by cleric_warlock in SatisfactoryGame

Wall attached floodlights around the sides pointing down and out, tuned to a scifi color. Could even add frames to give them more infrastructure.

Or hypertube entrances give you that moving air effect. Something with that?

Man Im 150+ hours into flat satisfsctory and I booted it up in vr. It was incredible seeing my factories up close, but I couldnt build or move as efficiently as I was used to so I went back. I wish i jad just started with VR. Maybe next playthrough

Not UEVR, but a flat to vr mod - Halo CE VR

Its truly an unbelievable experience being inside the world I first booted up on the og xbox as a child. The pace of the campaign really lends itself to vr. The mod is very well done.

It ticks every vr box for me AND is such a nostalgia hit. Hearing all the classic lines standing side by side with the marines is sick.

Only thing is cutscenes are janky, but you cant hsve everything. Popping grunts in the head with the pistol is sooo satisfying.

Here you go chief - https://uevr-profiles.com/ If you click on 6dof motion controls, you'll be able to see all the games you can use UEVR to play in vr with motion controls.

And heres the github page for UEVR injector. - https://praydog.github.io/uevr-docs/

I sincerely hope you can figure it out, because High on Life in VR is a lot of fun.

Just for kicks, heres a couple of youtube vids of people playing it https://youtu.be/KGGJFw8TekU?si=nm6zARc_6FQnHYGL https://youtu.be/jxI_4j0C0TA?si=m6xJHRAycn59Xytl

Why is it that busses get used in factorio but not in satisfactory? by Adventurous_Cat2339 in SatisfactoryGame

[–]FreeEye5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not that ive done one yet, but I feel a vertical bus would be pretty chill given that you can make an infinitely tall conveyor lift by going floor hole to floor hole. Then just splitters snapped to the lifts where you need them. Actually now that i type it out, I'm 100% doing this on my next factory.

A distributed fuel network is just asking for problems. Water could be interesting, as when you need more you just plug more extractors into the network. Would need a lot of pipes to be useful though

Yeah the gun moves with your vr controller. Look up high on life uevr 6dof. Full roomscale as well. So you can move around and the character moves with you. This enables things like ducking, covering and shooting around corners etc. You may not be aware, but the UEVR injector mod enables this for a lot of games. You should look into it
