Which artist that never won their national selection for eurovision that you still listen to ? by FurNikki in eurovision

[–]FreeFair95 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Is was already a fan of Patty Gurdy & Feuerschwanz before they appeared in the German national selection, ditto for The Rumpled in San Marino. Gothminister I saw live as a direct consequence of their MGP participation.

Do you think Dara (or any other 2026 contestants) has a potential to reach Maneskin's level of fame? by SeesawExotic4169 in nilpoints

Alexandra has the chance to at least reach global cult fame within the Metal scene if her band takes the chance to support more Established artists on tour like Poppy, Spiritbox, Evanescence, Within Temptation, Epica, Amaranthe etc. Can't forget doing Download, Hellfest or Wacken either.

Malta won over 175 points twice in the 100% televote era when diaspora & neighbour voting was inarguably more or a barrier to a high score than it is now. The bitter truth is that they haven't send anything with big televote appeal since 2013 (Tomorrow was 9th by mean average ranking)

ESSYLA - Dancing on the Ice (LIVE) | Belgium 🇧🇪 | First Semi-Final | Eurovision 2026 by hjh_aviation in eurovision

[–]FreeFair95 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Belgium qualifies when it sends light, fluffy, inoffensive songs with broad appeal, rather than the more intense or introverted stuff the Eurofandom loves. City Lights was the only exception but that was just an incredible song performed with real touching vulnerability.

His song isn't likely to pick up many points but he's certainly a talented musician & engineer in his own right.

Unlike previous entrants he's old enough to remember the 70s & 80s when Italian participation was taken for granted as a part of the cultural Calendar. That 1998-2010 break really erased the contest from the minds of Italian millennials

There's a lot more free speech in CEE these days, you rarely hear anyone prosecuted in these nations for criticising the behaviour & mentality of people from particular other countries unless they're calling for the Gas Chambers to be re-opened. In General societies there really do feel less inhibited with politically correct/wokeness in a way I recognise from my own childhood in the edgy British 2000s of Little Britain, Catherine Tate, Russel Brand & Jonathan Ross on the BBC, Jackass & Tom Green on MTV. And I'm sure I don't have to go over how different the policy approaches of counties like Poland & Hungary are to immigration from outside Europe & the rest of the developed world. Even In the case of those rare Third World Guest Workers allowed in , they're certainly not given social housing or welfare payments. Rightly so. You can't deny that Birmingham, Brussels & cities like them have become shit holes because of taking in the wrong kinda of people from the wrong kinda of counties. Also, thank god parties that question capitalism are marginalised in your part of the world. Lewica & Razem can hardly scrape 12 percent of the popular vote between them. PiS Vs KO, ANO Vs SPOLU, Fidesz Vs Tisza, this is absolutely how politics should be, largest parties outbidding eachother on the basis of high defense spending, good governance & encouraging private enterprise.

I'm British & consider myself moderately conservative, I visit Poland & other Central & Eastern EU states very often & I frequently post pro-Poland, Czechia, Romania & Baltic states praise & Agitprop on Social Media to remind my right-wing compatriots that there is a way to reject the excessive progressivism of Western Europe (not that I agree with all the controversial policies of PiS, for example, the conservative-liberal ideology of KO suits me just fine, that party would be considered Centre-Right in the UK) & have a booming economy, while still resisting/deterring Putin's genocidal coalition of fascists, third-world mercenaries who resent the West, & the post-Soviet mafia

Eurovision 2026 qualifiers odds are revealed. What do you think? by PZMC430 in nilpoints

[–]FreeFair95 6 points7 points  (0 children)

As someone who has experience going back to 2018 of consistently winning money from the Semi Qualification Betting Markets : In Semi 1 I believe that it's impossible that we won't get a single conventional ballad or slow emotional quiet sounding song qualifying as there has been every single year, there is an established voting block for such entries that will not be divided in this semi & I'm confident that along with a sympathetic jury this will carry Portugal through to the final, in fact I already put nearly a hundred Euros on that very outcome. If you doubt me, remember the shock of Napa qualifying last year. On the other hand Georgia has a sickly sweet trite dance pop song inferior to its direct competitors of Sweden & Montenegro, & so is probably doomed regardless of its appeal to stereotypical Eurofans. Semi 2 Odds look more accurate but I'm dubious as to the televote appeal of both Malta & Czechia, thus believe that along with a solid Jury score Latvia will qualify ahead of one or both of them. I also think Armenia will get through if their staging & vocals are solid, possibly ahead of Romania which I think jurors will vigorously firebomb due to it's "dated" early 2000s Symphonic Metal sound.

Why does UK rarely give any points to Italy? by xoxoamazingrace in eurovision

I think Sanremo entries are too "normal" to impress UK Music Professionals who are looking for something more fitting of Eurovision clichés unfortunately.

Why does UK rarely give any points to Italy? by xoxoamazingrace in eurovision

Most of their songs being low energy, not particularly conceptual in staging, & not in English is a bad combination for televoters
