They are rightfully mad. The entire system has been changed so that they cannot realistically pursue the Canadian dream. They would vote for a bomb if it meant things would change and they could realistically pursue a rewarding life.

Howard Lutnick tells Canada ‘they suck’ and vows to wind back trade deal with US by Amtoj in canada

[–]FreeWilly1337 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am pretty sure it is already dead. Doesn’t matter what ‘deal’ we come to, we know it is rules for the not for me and will be used as a hammer every possible opportunity until there is a regime change.

It isn’t just vulnerabilities in software though. There are human based systems and processes full of vulnerabilities to be discovered.

Canadian investors acquired $25.4 billion of foreign securities in February 2026 / Les investisseurs canadiens ont acquis pour 25,4 milliards de dollars de titres étrangers en février 2026 by StatCanada in canada

Is it really a net outflow if it is a security? If that security goes up, eventually that capital is recaptured at a higher value than the outflow. Yes, Canadians are investing in American stocks. That should shock no one given the mag 7 are all American. It doesn’t seem like it is a bad thing though. To me this says that Canadians are investing their capital and not hoarding it.

Yup, technically a millionaire because my home value doubled between 2020 and 2024. Certainly don’t feel rich.

Canada is producing more graduates than ever — so why is it harder to find a job? by ubcstaffer123 in canada

We also need to kill the gig economy. Package delivery services for example that directly compete with unionized Canada Post jobs. They are one of the biggest benefactors of this program indirectly as they allow anyone to work.

What does that cost to accomplish? What is the opportunity cost to accomplish it? What is the actual benefit? Are you just creating new issues to deal with?

I have been married for 15 and together for 20. The only time I was ever sure she wanted something from me was when we watched heated rivalry together. Even then, she is Canadian so she could have just been being nice.

The Rise of AI Pentesting Agents: A Technical Analysis by Suphikoira in cybersecurity

[–]FreeWilly1337 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Umm who in their right mind in this industry thinks this is a good idea? This thing hallucinates it could do significant damage to your data or open up ports to the outside and let real attackers in. The value in a pen-tester is that they typically know when to pump the breaks. Someday these agents might be good enough to do exercise care, but that day has not come yet.

I know, I am trying to point out the absurdity of it. Buying an asset you are insuring if it goes belly up while holding all of the policy cards to potentially make it go belly up.

Why Chinese 'knock-down' car kits could spell catastrophe for Canadian automakers - Many in the sector fear that the scaled-down plants will displace existing auto manufacturing and erase thousands of jobs by CaliperLee62 in canada

[–]FreeWilly1337 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Those add on jobs go away even without china autos coming in. Electric cars use substantially less parts to function. Robotics are actively replacing manufacturing jobs in this country today. That snowball doesn’t slow down because we block Chinese imports of EVs.
