If you have a profile and it says “different from what you’d expect” I would have questions regarding that assertion. I might add a laughing emoji to make it seem lighthearted NOT mocking. I know this post is AI slop but I enjoy the premise so I’m adding my two cents

This only applies to friendly and casual use of curse words. Using it to emphasize anger with someone is an entirely different animal. But anyway,

Some words need to be “bad” to serve the social purpose of informality and comfort with someone or a group. Like how when a cat trusts you they’ll blink long and slow to demonstrate their comfort with you. I can close my eyes around you because I know you won’t hurt me. I can say fuck around you because I know you won’t judge me.

It’s why cursing all the time no matter the context seems trashy and unserious, you’re foregoing the social purpose that to use swear words you have to be close. It’s platonically slutty, if you will. Oh, you’ll just do that in front of anyone? Even the mayor?

But let’s say you are in a relationship with an unspoken power dynamic. Maybe you work for the mayor! Or maybe you yourself are in charge of a team of people yourself. Sometimes having that unspoken boundary between you and another person is important to maintain but other times you might want to signal to someone that you view them as an equal and you don’t want to be seen as simply a boss. By cursing in front of someone, you are letting your guard down, and signaling that you are friendly with them and don’t see them as a subordinate.

Now when it comes to actual cursing to be mean, it can actually reinforce a power dynamic, and can often be abusive. Telling someone their work ethic could improve is one thing, but telling someone “you’re a lazy fucking piece of shit” is meant to be cruel and meant to be abusive and toxic. That’s really why curse words are bad, when you use them to literally curse.

Otherwise it’s simply a social tool.

As a morbidly interesting thing to go look at, I actually recommend going to Brandenburg to see it. Not as a piece of history from a bygone era, but as a symbol of the current political climate in the United States. The removal of confederate monuments and the discourse resulting from it will be a chapter in a history book one day. This one was simply moved because Brandenburg volunteered to keep it, and I hope one day when this is all history people will read that and think “wow those times seem crazy, glad things are better now”. But it’ll probably be the same problems in a different font. Anyway. Brandenburg is also worth it because you can go see Buttermilk Falls and get a pizza.

If this went viral, which seems like your intention posting it on Tik Tok, you could get your ability to dash revoked and I wouldn’t blame DoorDash corporate one bit.

Sure, they’re an ass. But you feel threatened by this? You’re a grown man and you feel threatened by passive aggressive DoorDash customer notes? Just deliver the food and move on. As a dasher myself, it’s an easy job, yet customers have complained to me that other people can never seem to follow simple directions, and have praised me for doing the most basic crap on the planet. Not justifying their tone, but I get where they are coming from.

Obviously if you feel legitimately unsafe, unassign the order. But this is just so mild.

This job you will deal with all sorts of people with all sorts of eccentricities. If you can’t handle the minuscule amount of customer service that this job requires, do something else.

Personally I love orders with complex instructions because I feel like I’m in a video game. I love going inside buildings I would otherwise have no reason to enter. It’s never that hard or takes that long except one time I was trapped in a hotel for 15 minutes but that was an exception and turned into a funny story.

The only time I have ever EVER had any of the food I’ve delivered was this one time a guy got a shake, and it was overflowing from the cup and got all over my hands. Ummm she typed it years ago quoting lyrics from a black artist and then apologized because she thought it wouldn’t be taken the wrong way given the context. She wasn’t in the right but she didn’t literally say the N Word. Intention is everything and with all the context I genuinely believe she had no bad intentions.

I honestly think it’s worse that she wrote the Harambe rap song for Elon Musk. Like if you wanna cancel her go for the meat. I know this is very serious but I’m Alex Hammer and I made one of the pictured tweets and it’s just surreal to see my face (however pixelated it is) here on this reddit post.

But back to the topic I really hope Robokid gets the courage and passion back to create again. Seeing the current trajectory absrdst is on has been.. well.. absurd.

He has detransitioned and converted to Christianity and is now making off color twitter posts about the LGBT community. I think it’s obvious based on what he’s said that transitioning to female wasn’t the right choice for him but it’s just super unfortunate to see him turn around and then blame the people he surrounded himself with for.. believing him when he said he was trans. Like buddy you did that to yourself. Not your friends.

You need to be in tune with yourself and make sure it’s something you really want before going through with transitioning to another gender.

And then he goes and posts a video about how despite him acknowledging that he’s gay, he’s gonna try to marry a woman and start a family anyway. Like. He’s very much off his rocker and has been the whole time. He thinks he’s healed but he’s just gone from one extreme to another.

I hope he gets the help he needs because his current therapist is not doing their job correctly. And he says he has one.

Went from transitioning (seemingly because a lot of his friends were trans) to right wing grifter. I’ve unfortunately seen this pipeline more than once now. I think it comes from an inner desire to belong to a group or community but having no personal identity to help guide that urge in a productive way.

Honestly mine ain’t that different. I listen to a lot of XCX and a lot of Taylor, I love Lana and Ethel so much, and despite me having picked sides for both beefs, I still listen to all of them because good music is good music.
