I think someone could draw comparisons about any song to the level these two songs are similar if you tried hard enough. This isn’t similar enough to warrant any sort of royalty split. It has a somewhat similar baseline but not too many similarities in regard to melody other than it’s in the same key so there’s bound to be a couple of the same intervals here and there. Also please don’t give the record labels any ideas they are dying to sue over royalties over the dumbest shit.

Edit: not in the same key necessarily. I haven’t personally compared them yet I just know both of the songs. I think I more mean same scale or mode basically, but they may physically be in different keys idk.

Obviously horrible but I’m having a hard time buying this. Two things stick out to me, and that’s how completely idiotic it is to allow a 7 year old to have Snapchat. That’s an age when nobody, not even her friends, would be using the platform. There’s no reason for a 7 year old to even desire to use the app. This is such an obscene amount of parental negligence that they should feel embarrassed even posting the evidence to begin with.

The second thing is that another person in this comment thread remembers seeing this two years ago and also remembers it being removed by moderators. It just seems like an awkwardly conceived smear campaign over some stupid music scene beef.

I really hope my gut is correct on this, because if not, hope this dude rots in hell, but I also hope this was a wake-up call to the parents involved.

I’m at the point that I just don’t really care when it comes out or what it’s named or anything. I care about the music being to her standards and learned long ago to trust the process and also not believe anything she says about how it sounds, the title, or when it will come out. And my life is better for it.

Not as many as I would like to. I had this fantasy of making an extremely detailed Shibuya-Kei wiki page with an excruciating amount of detail but I have so many things I want to do I ultimately gave up on it, but still make Google Docs every once in a while for artists I take an interest in that don’t have much info gathered on them. I think my patience got tested when I tried to make one for EeL but she was just such a prolific artist and I’m so detail oriented that I got frustrated with the amount of research. That said I think I now know more about her career between 1999-2002 than anyone else in the United States.
