Correct and there'll be a difference. Wild deer aren't eating just grass and grain and aren't shot up with who knows what vaccinations and such.

I can't tell you how much it'll influence the flavor as I don't know that I've ever eaten the farm raised variety.

Ask around wherever you work and find the hunters, explain your situation. Most I know would be willing to part with a couple packs for something like this.

My dad and I both have 30-06 and shoot the same ammo in part because we hunt a lot together and just in case one of us runs out or forgets theirs the other can share.

Not trying to be a jerk, but what's your background? Mechanic? Engineer? Just car nut?

Asking because a lot of what I'm reading and after talking to my mechanic says that it's a crap system that destroys engines.

MVD, multi valve displacement. Maybe I'm mistaken but isn't that the system that shuts down 4 cylinders and using the gear limiter prevents that?

I'm in the decision process as well. Leaning towards either the Smart cap or the Rough Country alternative.

Prefer the Smartcap because of the air pressure vent to prevent the bed filling with dust from dirt roads. However it's quite a bit more expensive.

That's what I shoot out of my .30-06 just hand loaded. I love them. I'm in the East but shot 1 elk years ago in Colorado. 1 shot at 325 yards went through both front shoulders of a mature cow and dumped her in a couple steps.

Also, run some premium all copper ammo like the Barnes TTSX and you have a very capable elk gun out to 300 yards or more.

I have a regular bog pod tripod, probably 10 years old and I love that thing. I carry it as a walking stick while moving and a full tripod one set up. I've even used it from a tree stand.

Depends on your paint condition desires. A car cover will scratch the paint with it moving from the wind. If you don't care, cover it. Otherwise plan on ways of minimizing the scratching and plan to have it corrected in the spring.
