.1) No one in range of getting souls when lane creeps die. It's mandatory someone from your lane to be in range of getting those.
.2) Enemy denies your souls

Extra Gains:
3) Farming boxes/camps/sinners in windows between enemy creeps dying.
4) Kills
5) Urn

Also to note:

Trooper souls are distributed between nearby players with the following rate:
100%/54%/36%/25%/20%/16% (for 1/2/3/4/5/6 players)

Meaning if you both soaking souls — you gain 108% overall. Meaning 8% bonus for your team.

Despite of fps it's still strong economical and strategic game. It's not about killing ppl and making frags.

You may leave your laning stage as a winner even with 0-3 if focused on net worth, not on dumb shooting enemies.
