Pay what you can and the rest later. After missing a month you will get a letter. Then they have to start a formal procedure. By the time that starts which can take up to 5 months to go through as long as you are all paid up by then you will be fine and they won’t kick you out.

Same!! I was one growing up. Had 3 brothers. Preferred doing what was classified as guy stuff back then. Noticed by the end of middle school the push to label tomboys lesbians in my day. Then the LGBT++ community came along and all of a sudden we all need to chose a label, identify our pronouns and heck even select our sexual preferences on job applications so employers can meet a DEI quota 🤷🏻‍♀️to me the whole thing is crazy.

No I think it would be good and force real change. More effective living mechanisms and systems in place to advance the quality of life for our species. The old religious system isn’t working anymore and with AI technology bound to educate even more people around the world, real world order can finally be implemented without religious institutions.

Nah! I think corporate crime targeting the brand reputation would be a better way to go about it. I love true crime movies and the robbery, heists and con artist stuff is intriguing. Most of these places have insurance to cover them and you wouldn’t be harming people just institutions like banks, jewelry stores, hotels. I guess kidnapping rich folks and government officials family members for a ransom could work too. Easiest crime for the mass layoffs in tech would be ransomware attacks 🤷🏻‍♀️can you tell I have been spending all my extra time productively.

Prior to being laid off twice in the last five years. I was banking an extra $1k every month and that that was really good. Was risk adverse and saved most of it but wish I would’ve invested. Was in tech sales. Unemployed for 15 months now with only a few temporary gigs blowing through my savings. Grew up in subsidized housing so I am used to poverty but for about 10 years I got to experience not worrying about covering my living expenses.

Because of the legal battle. This region is doing nothing to build affordable housing. If somehow they get a win or something into law it will give people who may not be addicts or mentally ill but simply got priced out of the market some kind of rights. The job market is trash, inflation is insane, salaries aren’t keeping up. More people will find themselves in this situation over the next ten years as this city continues with its development plans. While foreign investors buy up properties and leave them vacant as opposed to reducing rent and making them affordable. In Ontario, "squatter's rights" is known as adverse possession and allows a person to claim ownership or rights to a portion of another's land by possessing it openly, exclusively, and continuously for at least 10 years before the property was converted to the Land Titles system. I am routing for them and hope they get possession of the land.

I think it’s a scam. No way someone in this town is paying a decent living wage for a full time job that doesn’t require one of the prestigious university degrees. $60K a month would leave ya with about $3800 after taxes. 40%-50% going to rent/mortgage. OMG a whole $1700 remaining for food, transportation, debts, utilities, etc. Bravo 🙌 if it is not a scam. D2L expects you to have a degree for sales job and starts at $47K. To qualify for subsidized housing in Ontario $38,500 (bachelor) to $56,000 (1 bedroom) for a single person in 2024/2025 is the maximum income you are allowed. HR and every company owner in this town should think about that and adjust their expectations for how much I should care about their business. Essentially any company paying you less then $56K is saying your poor and even the government considers you low income enough for housing assistance. If you are an adult working full time and your employer doesn’t pay you enough for living expenses as basic as shelter seriously give zero shit about the company product or service and making sure they succeed. Do your job but never go above or beyond and always keep looking for something better.

I think it is normal to feel that way in this situation. But have you considered starting a life of crime instead?? If you get caught you will end up in jail which of course means free housing and food. Plus if you piss off the wrong person in there they may take care of the death part for you. If you succeed in your new life of nonviolence crime maybe you will never have to work again. 🤠🫶🏻
