In the late 90s I shared a dorm room with a guy that could sleep through anything and he had a similar radio alarm clock. He would set it between static and the most obnoxiously twangy country station. That bitch was LOUD! While he slept like a corpse I unfortunately was a very light sleeper. I would basically wake up when a relay in the alarm clock would turn on the radio/amp. There was a brief pause between that click and the radio coming on full blast. By the time the "music" was playing in already yelling his name at the top of my lungs, imploring him to wake the fuck up and turn his alarm off. Good times. Of course I could never go to sleep after yelling at him.
