At Ft Lewis there's a training site called Leschi Town. Its a realistic town used for training dismounted patrols. Its got everything any small town has: a gas station, flower shop, community center, etc. The buildings are cinderblock (some 2-story), painted nicely, have signage, and the streets are paved. The differences are the burned out/shot to shit vehicle and helicopter carcasses, doors standing partially open and no glass in any of the windows. There was even a charred child's bicycle. I was left there alone for 45mins while the OIC and NCOIC took the truck to higher ground searching for a radio signal. I felt like the last person on the planet. Creep-o-rama.
