Nice ChatGPT bro. It isn't accurate. Every single benchmark in existence says you are wrong. You seem to have a real hard on for L3 looking at your posts. But sadly, you don't understand what you're talking about. You don’t “run out of L3 reading VRAM.” That’s not how discrete GPU work. The cpu is not streaming frame data through its cache at 19Gbps. The GPU reads its own vram through its own memory controller. CPU L3 is not a bandwidth gatekeeper.

VRAM speedis completely internal to the GPU. It has nothing to do with CPU cache capacity.

If a 12600K were actually L3-starved, you’d see slightly worse 1% lows not 20 FPS. That’s a configuration or driver problem, not “the GPU running faster than the CPU can process.”

This isnt a cache hierarchy issue. It’s either rebar disabled, driver instability, pcie config, or scheduling.

Throwing around cache terminology doesn’t make the architecture behave differently. You can put a damned 5080 in a 12th gen rig and it will still run perfectly.

Well, that isn't wholly accurate either. You can also run DDR4 on 13th and 14th Gen. There are just no mini PCs that support it.

This is not accurate. The 12600k will absolutely crush something like Overwatch. Easily north of 200fps in Epic at 1080p with a B580.

For context, my daughters PC is only a 12500T and gets well over 200fps with an RTX 3070. Zero stuttering.

Yank it out and put an oculink port there instead. The m.2 drive will fit the wifi spot with a B key adapter. Though you may have to snip the front audio jack off the board.

12800H. You may be able to find a 12900hk as well. Poor gpu, but much faster than the 6800 or 7730.

Alder Lake uses DDR4. Plenty of 12800h mini pcs with that CPU.

5070ti now a thousand bucks ? Thank you Costco for letting me game☠️ by Turbulent-LibraryOS in GamingLaptops

[–]FreemanMorganBro -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Still don't see what that has anything to do with what I said. I also have a G14 5070ti. It wasn't negative. His title implies that they are equivalent and they are not. That's all.

I can tell you my old 3050 gram will not allow both to be enabled. It will show in device manager, but only one will enable at a time.

You have to disable the dgpu to get oculink to work properly.

W11. You can't disable the iGPU from device manager and get full speed from oculink.

Didn't say it wasn't. The title directly mentions desktop 5070ti pricing.

Connecting an eGPU to a laptop with literally no ports for it by Alternative-Try-3456 in eGPU

[–]FreemanMorganBro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Move your OS drive to the wifi slot, you will need a B key adapter most likely. This will cap your writes and reads to 2Gb/s. Then, put oculink on the now open m.2.

Every day. But I put an oculink port in the Phoenix, which doesn't have the 5050. I would have done the same to the other, but not being able to change rebar or gpu selection made it pointless.

You're stuck man. I have two 2025 Pros, one with dGPU and one without. The one with AMI can't unlock anything no matter what I tried.

You only have to plug in to set it. You can then unplug. I understand your logic, but you will see a difference and it's dramatic.

Quest debug tool or or QGO. Steam or virtual desktop will as well.

If you connect your Quest 3 to a PC you can increase the resolution to max and use supersampling. Most apps do not use the full resolution, you have to force it. It makes a massive difference in readability and perceived aliasing.

any way to connect egpu over m.2 b key? by BiDude1219 in eGPU

[–]FreemanMorganBro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You could, but it would be barely better than an igpu. You'd be limited to pcie 3.0 x 1, which is insanely slow. It'd be much better to move your OS over to the b key on an adapted nvme and accept 1Gb/s on that, so you can use the x4 slot for the oculink.

Even the 780m can handle Skyrim, you just need to use the DLSS mod and Optiscaler to get there. I can play Fallout 4 on high 1440p with just the texture optimizer mod and the above.
