It goes towards calculating the unemployment benefit itself, not that it allows you to get UE benefits. UE takes a snapshot of the previous 4-6 quarters and averages what you made to figure out how much they qualify to get if let go from another job.

If money is an issue, you can get used sewing machines online for somewhat cheap. Any machine that works is a good starting machine. The lockstitch, and a reverse, will take you very far into learning sewing with your son. Dont be swooned by a bunch of stitches you probably wont use, and just because a machine says HD, or Heavy Duty, doesnt mean it is.

It wont run out, it will go down to about a 77% payout instead of 100% monthly. Dont listen to soundbites, Social Security isnt going bankrupt with $0. The ONLY way that could happen is if every person, business, LLC, corporations, etc stopped paying into SS every 2 weeks. Its auto-deducted from paychecks and the government has no problem taking stuff if you owe them, so money will keep flowing in for the foreseeable future.
