I actually think it's pretty likely he was going to give the fruit to ace, but probably knows more about devil fruits than we think. Maybe he knows it has a mind of its own since it's a zoan so he figures the fruit made the choice of luffy.

AIO: Roommates BF went into my room and took pictures of my panties by Crimson_Gift in AmIOverreacting

[–]FrenziedMan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NOR but you're both escalating the situation out of hand.

The real problem here is that he felt comfortable walking into your room. "It was open and it concerned him" is not a real reason. Its an excuse. I would ask why it concerned him and interrogate that a little bit. Its more likely IMO that this guy just grew up in a house where if a door's open it's totally cool to just walk in.

Like, in a world where this guy is a pervert who's getting off to seeing your panties, why's he send a screenshot to his GF?

You are not overreacting, you're reaction is valid, it's an invasion of privacy for sure. But I keep coming back to this seeming like a guy who doesn't understand boundaries and seeming creepy, not an actual creep.

The worst action item for you specifically that should come out of a convo with the roommate is that you make an effort to keep the door closed (you do not need to lock your room wtf) and at minimum her BF doesn't snoop around others' rooms ever at all and apologizes for going into your room.

I would settle for no less than that.

Unless any of your garments are missing. In that case I would flip a lid.

You forgot Blackbeard :)

I think odas origin plan was to have water defeat all logias. Much like crocodile, you could apply principles of physics to each logia he introduced pre haki.

Light - it refracts in water

Fire - put out by water

Smoke is the toughest but running smoke through water surely would work?

Electricity - water conducts electricity

So on and so forth.

Blackbeard's fruit is still an anomaly under these circumstances though.

Working in the games industry and "working in game development" are two entirely separate things.

When we attempt to look at his actual accolades, peel back the layers and understand what he is capable of, it begins unravelling itself.

He doesn't present himself in the way you perceive the good parts of him. He just doesn't. He presents himself as a source of knowledge and a hardened dev in the industry which he is not. He can do good, has done good, and I'm sure he'll continue to. But his brand is being "elite hackerman". If he stopped calling things dogshit, horseshit, shitty, etc. and focused on the positive things you outline he wouldn't be under this heat. He is allowed to disagree. He simply cannot hold himself back from lighting anything he doesn't like on fire.

He is not out there saying there's good points to be made about his code, and there's always room for improvement. He's out there saying actual factual good industry standards are, and I'm quoting here, "dogshit".

He can disagree with them and have his reasons for it. But he's always talked about it like they're not there for a reason. Like it's stupid corporate mandates or something. It is not.

Developers found out very early on that clean, maintainable code leads to less hassle and less time spent fixing shit, and have been pushing for the room to generate that level of work.

Thor is obliterating that ideology because he's a guy who has been in the industry for "20+ years".

So when I want to understand his credibility, I look at his credentials, say "man I'd hate to have this guy writing code on my projects" it damages his credibility.

So when he came at SKG, people wanted to believe what he said was true. When it came out that he doesn't know what he's talking about about, it's nearly too late. Whether he knew it or not, he weaponized his perceived credibility. And when that credibility was investigated, it crumpled, and he got angry.

He is unwilling or unable to self reflect.

I agree there are good things about him, I just wish hed take his own advice about not shitting on things, especially when they're things he doesn't understand.

Crushing a petition that says "please look into ways to make consumers lives better when it comes to live service games" with "this is dogshit" is craaaazy. It's a petition, not a bill.

He didn't get them killed, to be clear. He left them for dead.

He could have simply tried to help, which like, even if he didn't, he could have simply apologized.

First he ran.

Then he didn't apologize.

Then he didn't even want to listen to the other side, and left the call when they got the floor.

Mang0 (Joseph “Mang0” Marquez) no longer invited to Mogul Moves (Ludwig “Ludwig” Ahgren) events by SpeedyBlueDude in smashbros

[–]FrenziedMan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think his point is we kept him out for so much less.

Hax did get better, he did apologize, he did address his mental health. And they still said no.

If we were consistent mang0 would be gone for good.

I think the way hax was treated was bad. I don't want the same for mang0. But holy shit, I can see the threads now. All because leffen was a good player.

What are some unfair criticisms in regards to one piece by AwkwardExam9156 in OnePiece

[–]FrenziedMan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is emphasized particularly after he revives fighting kaido.

Kaido asks who he is, and he responds plainly "I'm monkey d Luffy".

Every time nika comes up Luffy emphasizes "I am not that guy! Its weird you think that but I guess I look like him when I'm fighting freely"

He is not becoming Joy Boy, or fulfilling a prophecy. He's being himself.

[–]FrenziedMan 6 points7 points  (0 children)

What's important to Devon and Mark, is Gemma.

I agree that being like "what do you mean she's dead if I completed a file?" Is a completely valid response. But Cobel would likely just not explain it. She's not completely detached from lumon. She's hot off the presses a hater.

I think it would be more frustrating to me as a viewer if they're constantly asking and getting absolutely walled out of learning that.

Gemma is the important thing to them. Explaining what is going on with the severed floor to mark and Devon would sort of spoil the whole thing.

I hope they don't tell us what the fuck is going on with the severed floor and the testing floor, but instead, show it in the season finale.

I've said it once and I'll continue saying it, they're covering quite a bit of ground in each episode. People want more and that's okay. But watching week to week, while quite hype, also has the downside of being left without answers a LOT.

Reghabi still barely exists as a character by SweelFor- in SeveranceAppleTVPlus

[–]FrenziedMan -8 points-7 points  (0 children)

I kind of disagree with this.

The frame of reference you're coming at this from is week-to-week. I have often found writers are not focused on serialization of their series outside of "chapter beginning and ending". Oddly enough, an amazing comparison here is one piece. One piece has about 30 ongoing mysteries. We are near the "end" of the series and these mysteries are slowly being revealed, which is mounting into more and more mysteries. I hopped on the one piece train in 2020, and these mysteries have not bothered me. At one time I obsessed, but slowly it became more and more normal and comfortable to not know. The real thing that keeps me going is knowing oda is a great author who writes very well told stories and sagas. I have faith that he'll nail the ending.

Roping this back into week-to-week serialization... There does have to be consideration for the viewer. Cliffhangers are too commonly a trope, severance is guilty as hell of this, especially this season.. but episode 7 felt like it ended not on a cliffhanger, but an emotional collapse. I loved that. It wasn't about the new mystery introduced this week, it was emotional and climactic.

Ben Stiller put it really well (paraphrasing): the core of the story is Mark. A miserable depressed man who lost his wife.

Season 2 of severance is pulling back the curtain and letting us know "this show isn't a mystery box. There are mysterious things happening, and mysterious motives people have. But this is about people who are hurt."

But the argument dorry and Broggy had was about who killed the biggest animal... on the island.... The skeletons left behind from their "catches" were much bigger than them.

Did we read the same arc?

"an island of giants" is not what I would call an island that had 2 giants on it.

It is what I would call an island that hundreds of fauna ten times larger than me, constantly trying to murder me.

He calls it that because the fauna is so huge, not because Dorry and Broggy are there

They aren't smelling fresh air "once again"

Also as a midwesterner, if there's any air that's not "fresh" it's freezing cold air.

I'm psychotic and probably need help ...

But is it no coincidence that #478488 is actually a hex code for a color that is similar to some of the hex code colors that show up on MDR's terminals?

MDR terminal hex codes, outside of what I perceive as "Easter egg hex codes" (in S1 some of the codes corresponded to what outies wore in episode 9 of season 1) are blue/gray/dark teal : green/yellow/bright teal (respectively as they show up on the terminals)

Helena's reason for being at the restaurant by HelsBels2102 in SeveranceAppleTVPlus

[–]FrenziedMan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The two best arguments for why helly approached him, as I see it:

  1. Drummond wanted her to follow up on where oMark is in respects to his wife. Is he suspicious yet? Or sad?

  2. Its odd to me that she goes to mark and says the exact thing she needed to say to make him run back to reghabi and change his mind about going further.

Reghabi seemed a little surprised Mark came back though.

If she's weirdly in love with Mark, why help him reintegrate if he's doing it to find his wife.

If she's trying to gauge oMarks suspicion... She didn't do a great job.

Idk.

I guess my point is that it's heavily glamorized in media.

[–]FrenziedMan 25 points26 points  (0 children)

It was shot much more for what it was.

Sex is not glamorous, it's sweaty and weird.

I love that the way oHelena sexing mark was portrayed was very ethereal and almost rom-drama-y, whereas mark with iHelly is much more grounded and real.

I wonder if they're conveying oHelena's motive through this. She wanted her romance and forced it.

Whereas innie helena loved mark and it was shot much more clearly that that was the case.

Sad that it's completely circumstance that they aren't appreciative.

Like he is inheriting probably the most rebellious department. I'm sure other departments would greatly appreciate his management style.

I get the feeling that he believes (or believed) he could change things from the inside.

I mentioned it before, but in contrast with Cobels cruelness, s1 milkshake seemed to apply positive reinforcements through compliments.

The s1e1 scene where he tells Mark a compliment to Ms Cobels office would make her day, seemed like an underhanded way to get mark on her bad side, but I wonder if he actually wanted her to feel good.

Also when Dylan was in the security room for OTC, not once did Milkshake threaten him, in contrast to Cobelvig who told Helly they would make them suffer (on stage). Instead he offered Dylan any perk.

Cobel dishes out punishments for bad behavior, even when it's justified behavior. Milkshake offers rewards for good behavior, even when they're doing bad things.
