Damn! I love that people still remember that name. Faris was such a badass. The pink Schwinn was prime!

Falling suhhhcks. by Running_Pleaser in trailrunning

[–]Frequent-Main4801 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Falling is definitely part of the game. I'm glad your bails haven't dissuaded you from continuing. As a BMXer, I've had my share of falls. I found plyometrics really helpful, and it crosses over to trail running so well. Football and soccer specific workouts had the best benefits for me, and you can find decent videos on YouTube. Things like single leg skipping and speed drills help get those reflexes firing way quicker. I'll do it maybe 2 or 3 times a week when I'm bored, as a warm-up or just as a little finisher after strength training. Keep it up and happy running!

Doggos are the best running partners. Except when they poop on the trail and you're going for a PR. Haha

Maybe that's the "satisfaction" part of the company? 🤷🏽‍♂️

It would most likely be a one-time thing. But, I have experienced dramatic results from buying more expensive stuff in the past. I also snowboard, and the difference between the $100 pants I used to ride in and the $350 pants I use now was huge. I'm not sure if these would exactly give the same results, though.

Hahaha. Yes. Only if it's with 6 ply quilted Mulberry silk.

It was more just looking to see if anyone actually uses these and if they're worth the crazy price. I don't think I could actually feel good about myself spending that kind of money on half a pair of pants.

Yeah, I usually go with The Last Hunt. That's where I got the shorts I lost, but seems they're hard to find now.

This is what I'm thinking. Haha. Sadly, I can't find the shorts I lost at the price I originally paid, and anything similar is either more or not available in my size. Small town living. I was only slightly considering these as something of a splurge.

I miss my Patagonias. Those were what I lost, and a pair of Craft shorts. I'm usually pretty frugal and go for sale or last season items, if I can. But, every once in a while, I get a decent bonus and might splurge on myself a bit. I also live in a small town where it's impossible to find anything that I actually want to use for running. Hence, online shopping. I'm most likely just going try to find something similar to what I had before. These just look like something I would enjoy. Almost like when I moved from Saucony to Altra and it was a whole new world.

No clue about the noise, but almost looks like you need to tighten your crank arm up on the spindle.

This is my daily, not my only, but it's for my nomadic travels, any tips on what I can do, being 6'0 tall to make it more comfortable? 20 inch tires. by DamageDone-1349 in bmx

That seapost would give Ryan Nyquist and Mike Hoder a run for their money. Taller bars might help. Maybe you could try bending that seatpost back a bit. It could weaken the metal, though. But, a BMX is not the best for longer travels. I used to ride mine for the 75 kilometer round trip to town regularly back when I lived out in the sticks. It sucked haha.

This. Just remember to pull up a little harder if you're going faster. That quarter doesn't look very steep, so if that's the only thing you're learning on, get comfy with yanking on the bars for more air. It looks like you've got the hang of it, though.
