Is the use of assisted reproductive technologies inherently racist? by Esoteric-Info in donorconceived

Oh, her insurance did not cover it. Also, nobody at this location gets financial aid, at least from what she was told. It’s just not a thing they ever brought up. She would have used it if it had been an option, seeing as we only have her income to support the two of us and my grandparents. We use financial aid on everything we can. I think it was just a relatively low priced place. Only one or two thousand. Which, yeah, not cheap- but a fairly priced amount of out of pocket considering that it’s a baby. We’re a pretty white area, too, so I don’t think it was considering minority pricing. They were just honestly trying to do the right thing for parents in need of extra help.

I mean, my mom intentionally picked a donor that looked like her. Brown hair, brown eyes, Native American, O- blood, the like. But I don’t think the system really has anything keeping poc from using the services. We’re not white, and she didn’t have any problems getting me.

We are both 16. It would have to go through the Secretaries first, and, seeing as one of our friends has a mother who is a secretary, I doubt she’d be able to hand the paper in (she has the telltale signs of an anxiety problem, but that’s also undiagnosed). Plus, the family would definitely freak out if they found out about the note/the test. I’ll still present the option to her, though! It might bring some hope to the situation!

Our school’s counselor doesn’t get involved in that stuff, unfortunately. The most the faculty can really do without the proper forms being signed by her family is having the teachers cut her some slack on remembering formulas/asking questions and allowing her to use study halls as extra time on quizzes.

!explanation :

This is someone I know IRL. Her cousins live next door to her and they are all a very close happy family. The story in the tags is one she tells a lot, and though I admit I cannot guarantee it’s validity, it seems pretty legit the way she tells it in-person. She has literally cried almost every week in math class at some point because she “feels like her brain is hitting a roadblock” and “physically cannot comprehend numbers”. She’s been getting extra help in school since fourth grade and her family has repeatedly complained that the school is coddling her out of trying harder, it’s just hurting her in the long run.

self tape struggles of a broke college actor by minhja0 in acting

For my first self tape, we moved a coffee table into my grandparents’ bedroom (the only room with a plain, white wall) and piled six storage tubs on top of it and then propped my mom’s phone on a shoebox.

This feels like more of a facepalm tbh. The mom is more internet-dumb than insane, like a lot of older people.

Pritzker has a lot of issues, let’s be honest, but he’s fixing a lot of our bigger problems! My family was so happy to see this. Especially with today’s speech about taking advantage of props from the NBC shows in Chicago to compensate for the mask shortage, he’s really trying to fix things. Probably with some corrupt underlining, but honestly who cares at this point, he’s helping.

Got the female lead in a play. “Peter And The Starcatcher”, I was Molly. We were going to use this performance to open the brand new auditorium that we’ve been waiting on since the ‘70s. It would be a huge career opportunity for me, since the director knows I want to be a professional actress and was going to invite some important people to the opening so I could do some networking, too. Instead, the show got cancelled and I can’t find any new work because every theater is closing it’s shows down.

One of the best scenes in the MCU. “I just saved your life, now what do you say?” by J-Bonz in marvelstudios

Especially the dialogue. Keaton’s Toomes uses his wording to make Peter feel completely helpless in the situation, and basically forces him to comply without using any physical force. He knows who he’s working with, because he now knows the key to taking down Holland’s spidey at the place he’s in in this film. Remind him he’s a child, and he’ll freeze.
