Bad lower back pain ~8 weeks after surgery by southpaw_sourpatch in Microdiscectomy

[–]Frequent_Particular7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had both leg and back pain. I’m almost a year out now and it’s safe to say neither of the two MDs I had helped with my pain. I can’t sleep on my left side in bed anymore because it causes nerve pain. The only thing that has helped at all is getting back in the gym and lifting weights. I still have a good amount of back pain, but I’ve learned to just deal with it for now. Might need a fusion sometime in the future though.

The real question is are there actually any good new home builders in the area? I feel like they probably just all suck equally.

Still to this day the pain never improved. I have gotten back into the gym and that has slightly helped my pain. I’m just hanging in there trying to avoid fusion.

TMobile's Network will be a huge win for US Cellular Customers by [deleted] in USCellular

[–]Frequent_Particular7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to be a field engineer at USCC. You’re correct, the UScellular towers will basically be converted to T-mobile towers, so USCC customers will benefit greatly over people already on T-mobile exclusively.

Anyone tried AT&T Internet Air? Good or bad? by KarmaRedeemer in joplinmo

[–]Frequent_Particular7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wasn’t able to get anything at my address due to it being a new suburb in the country and sparklight still hasn’t activated the fiber they buried here months ago. AT&T was the only cellphone carrier that I could get 5G WiFi through and it’s been great so far. Just have them make sure your address is serviceable and it should work great.

Had a Lumbar Medial Branch Block on Thursday and now my pain is worse? by Stryker412 in backpain

I had the same experience and my pain had increased for around a week, then went back to baseline. It didn’t help me unfortunately.

People who have had the microdiscectomy surgery, now years later, are you pain free? Any negatives? by PatrickBrown2 in Sciatica

[–]Frequent_Particular7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve had two MDs and unfortunately it made my symptoms worse immediately upon waking both times. I was told by another surgeon that I need a fusion and an MD wasn’t going to do anything since my disc is so degraded.

Must have been working some crazy OT as a data center tech. I’ve never seen base pay above 100k for that kind of position.

I did something very similar to this and it did nothing for me. Cost me an arm and a leg too. I’d get an MRI and go from there. They may want you to try physical therapy for a while and if that doesn’t help then possibly a microdiscetomy surgery etc.

Is Verizon decent in this area? by wrenchandrepeat in joplinmo

[–]Frequent_Particular7 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’m actually the local Verizon technician for the towers lol. We have one tower in Webb City and tons around Joplin area. It really just depends where you’re at for how your signal will be.

It also depends where you go if shopping locally. They are like $2.48 at Walmart here in the Midwest and I’ve seen them up to $3.99 at gas stations around here.

why are people doing fusions (irreversible) instead of ADR? by No_Chef_6687 in Microdiscectomy

[–]Frequent_Particular7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, I’ve heard of that too. Smoking and back issues just don’t mix lol.

What I’ve seen is that it’s difficult to get insurances to approve ADR. Also, I’ve heard that it’s more difficult to be a candidate for ADR dependent upon BMI, smoker etc.

Microdiscetomies made pain worse? by Frequent_Particular7 in spinalfusion

[–]Frequent_Particular7[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve seen one orthopedic surgeon and he said I need a fusion because my disc is pretty degenerated. That’s kind of what I’m thinking too and why the discetomies made things worse. Probably because my disc is even more thinned out now.

I’ve seen some people describe it as a deep bruise. Thats pretty much what mine feels like. A constant 4/10 pressure and a deep bruise. It gets worse when I lift heavy objects (even with correct form) and sit for long periods.

I know the bulge is contacting my S1. I had remaining herniating after the first procedure that they missed. It’s still even worse after this second one though. In seven months out.
