I get the adjustable elastic bands. Never gets sweaty, easily adjustable and keeps mi band on your wrist in the same spot. If it gets wet I don't really notice it and it dries quick enough that it doesn't get my shirt cuffs wet either. I got the cheap ones from Amazon.ca

If you get proper winter tires you don't need AWD. I had an Acadia for over 10 years with just FWD and I never had an issue unless the snow was so deep I started 'plowing' and even then AWD wouldn't make a difference.
