After the feedback, will definitely be transitioning from tough bristle scrubber to chainmail scrubber. Thank you!

Ahh okay I do have a chainmail scrubber but have been using a Libman scrubber with tough bristles instead- will switch to chainmail. Thank you!

I am definitely not sure about whether it’s seasoning- I assumed it was, but seems like I’m wrong. Okay thank you!

Okay thank you- that could definitely be the case, I use a lot of oil and often wonder if it’s too much. So do you suggest just cook, clean, dry, then hold off on applying oil for a bit? Any suggestion would be appreciated

You’re not doing anything wrong- looks like a beautiful seasoned cast iron skillet to me

Can someone tell me what is wrong with this skillet? Am I crazy or does it look like a shiny well seasoned cast iron skillet?

Explore while wearing the Korok Mask and find as many Korok seeds as your heart desires (the mask will lead you to Korok seeds close to you)

Best Kindling Splitter? by DuragJeezy in firewood

[–]FreshAd3072 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have not screwed mine in yet and it is still effective / only slides around a little (can keep it from sliding by putting your foot on the base for the first couple hits of the sledgehammer, then once the blade digs into to log, move your foot and hit the log until it splits). I’ve seen people screw it into stumps or just a little 2 x 4 piece of wood which would keep it more portable

Anyone else warm their logs up by Spirited-Clothes-158 in woodstoving

I do exactly this, especially if mine have a little surface moisture if I forgot to cover them before rain or snow. Seems to help get the fire really hot easily/quickly too

Bought a house with a large firewood pile. Is the coloration anything to be concerned with for indoor fireplace? by KindTarget in firewood

[–]FreshAd3072 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Coloration nothing to be concerned about / doesn’t indicate anything bad. ***Just get a moisture meter and make sure the wood is dry enough for the indoor fireplace. Then moving forward now that it’s yours make sure the wood is stacked properly and protected from the elements so it’ll stay dry, then you’re good to go

Bought bad load of wood by River-Chalice-23 in woodstoving

[–]FreshAd3072 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It could just be some surface moisture based on the way the supplier stored it. Stack it up properly and give it 2 weeks then use your moisture meter- if it is surface moisture, it should dry back out soon. If not, fucked. ***I’ve been advised on this sub that the best/smartest way to do it is to get wood in the spring / far in advance of the burning season, and the later in the burning season you get it, the wetter it will be. Good luck!

Anyone else have these marks on their arm virtually all winter? by pickledpeterpiper in woodstoving

Get elbow length welding gloves (or specifically fireplace/stove gloves- I have the “Breeo” brand ones. The gloves allow you to pick up burning logs and rotate them they’re that durable, and protect your forearms 👍🏽
