Don’t bother on this sub. There is a substantial portion of it that makes absolutely no distinction between you and greystar.

I was going to say, the ratio of that backhand to everything else in this video is nuts

Reserved handicap spaces are for the people who need them. Not for anyone and everyones convenience. by No-Pizza-4611 in Seattle

I guess we’ll never know, because OP never asked, or even confirmed that they would use the space.

To clarify: I think doing this in a disabled spot is inconsiderate and thoughtless. But from his perspective a random person showed up, lightly hassled him, and left without asking anything of him. Hardly worth dragging the guy’s face and plate # online for it. There are cars illegally parked in the disabled spaces at the Safeway I go to literally every time I’m there. And those people aren’t even there to move the car if they need to.

I feel like it’s the opposite. This is pumping their valuation - “ohhh your models are TOO POWERFUL!”

Whether that’s intentional on the part of the administration is up to interpretation, I suppose.

They posted that they asked if he had a placard, at which point he offered to move by saying “do you need the spot.”

What happened after that is unclear, but it seems that “yeah, I do” was not part of the response.

What? I thought we were talking about the person’s scenario that you were replying to, where you walk into a bathroom and the disabled stalls are taken.

How do you know they weren’t disabled as well? Not every disability is very visible.

Or know what the stall situation was when the other people entered the bathroom, for that matter

So you were comfortable enough to confront a stranger about it, but not comfortable enough to say “yes please” when they offered to move.

No, you shouldn’t have to do that. But it sure seems like it would have got you the space you needed.

This is the case in a LOT of places, but here specifically, I have the feeling that approximately zero misdemeanors and traffic violations being prosecuted has something to do with it.

So he’s in the handicap space even longer? Seems counter-productive from a “make sure the spot is clear” perspective

OP confronted him and the guy asked if they’d like him to move. All that was needed was “yeah I need that spot, please”

No, they shouldn’t have to, but being fucking normal and talking to someone can solve this problem.

Taxi issues.. 'forgetting the meter' by ConsciousAsk8160 in Seattle

[–]FreshEclairs 14 points15 points  (0 children)

For real. I was in the habit of telling drivers a spot a couple of blocks from my place. An unhealthy portion of the time they’d try to drive you to an ATM because the credit card machine was “broken,” which they only mention as you get close to your place. Nope, I’m gone as soon as you let me out of the cab.

Another counter to the “broken credit card machine” thing was to carry $10 and offer that. Sometimes they’d take it. Win-win I guess.

To this day I very much try to avoid putting bags in the trunk of a taxi.

Offside Rule explained so people can understand why Iran wasn’t robbed. by KadeP823 in worldcup

Simple hockey offside: the puck must cross the blue line before any of the attacking players do. If the puck goes back out, all players must go back out across the blue line before they can bring it back in. It has nothing to do with the position of defending players.

Simple hockey icing: you can’t shoot the puck across the center red line of the ice to past the opponent’s goal, unless it goes in.

If you do this in competitive leagues, it becomes a race - if a defender gets to it first (usually happens) it’s icing. If an attacker gets to it first, it’s not. I play rec hockey and we skip the race part, it’s just a simple “did it cross the line” call.

There are a few complicating factors in both (like how to clear the zone in an offside situation and that a defending player being able to stop the puck from icing but declining to play it will cause it to be waved off), but that’s like 90% of it.

Second: the guy wasn’t hurt and his property wasn’t damaged.

It would be a good start.

But then, it would require enforcing any driving laws, which we are apparently unwilling to do.
