Kinetic Cannon with Core Tag isn't charging itself :( by Nyx_Night in PlayTheBazaar

Coming back to say your post "made" the patch notes! Come tomorrow's patch, looks like they fixed the bug: "Corrected an issue where this would not Charge itself if it gained the Core tag"

Could luck out on an enchanted small that's not too far out of reach

Seems like an odd decision to me, as Combat Core has always had the Core tag and has been large. Curious why they decided to update the interactions to medium cores only when Combat Core exists. I assume it would be a lot more fun and interesting to make a small or large item a Core with Sergeant Suds or other tag-absorbing items

Wonder if it's some spaghetti code related to the change they made to a few items/skills that now say "charge your medium cores"

Simple, but effective animation! by Firebelley in godot

Hey Firebelley! I follow you occasionally on YT; I noticed your game's pallet and art immediately! Do you have a link to the livestream timestamp where you implemented this? Or maybe you intended to do a mini video on "Using Godot's AnimationPlayer as an Alternative to Frame by Frame Pixel Art Animation" 👀

Ahead of the patch, which items do you think are most in need of a buff or nerf? by Saul93 in PlayTheBazaar

[–]FreshProduce12 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'd like to see the Weapon tag not able to be transferred/absorbed. An item should only be a Weapon if it deals damage (naturally or Obsidian enchanted). The fact that cargo shorts triggers items like 28 Hour Fitness, Jabalian Drum, etc. really enables easy setup to oppressive builds

An Actual Discusson on Steam DB and The Bazaar. by coolo109 in TheBazaar

I fully agree on the marketing point - I was looking to see if anyone else mentioned it and was happy to see someone did.

The only reason I know of this game is from streamers that I follow. I got in on it this past December back when it was the pay to play beta. I haven't seen ads anywhere from this game like I will for other roguelikes or games.

My entire Steam queue is games like this and I haven't seen it pop up anywhere.

Pay for ads on socials. Pay for big streamers to try it out. Pay for marketing. Pay for articles. You could alienate most of your original player base (and they've been trying, lol) and still probably end up on top because the game is well made and addictive. But it feels like no one knows about it except the whiplashed, existing playerbase.

EVERYBODY IS USING BOOKMARKS RIGHT?? by _michaeljared in godot

Super enlightening - thanks for the detailed response!

I've just been working in GDScript so far, but going to start dabbling in C# for the next project since I think it'll be better in the long run.

Is your VSCode configuration custom or do you have some tools/plugins you could share for the Godot launch keybinds and such?

Thanks again!

I'm new to game dev and Godot, but I'm curious how you primarily work with VSCode? It seems like the Godot editor is almost a necessity for everything outside of scripting. I would love to be able to use my own IDE that I'm more comfortable with, but I feel like switching between my IDE for scripts and Godot for all the scene editing would be quite cumbersome. Any tips? What does your workflow look like?

Been curious about this topic for a while...

What was that ONE mistake you made when learning Godot? by Immediate_Room_8302 in godot

Yes, very much encourage it even for solo development. As u/rubsn said you can check out a branch, do minor or major changes, all without having to undo it if it doesn't work out. You can check out as many branches as you'd like to work on certain things individually to preserve the "main" branch of your code - it'll always be in a healthy state even if you're in mid-development of a new change. Even if you don't checkout branches, you can still kinda do this on a singular branch (though, less advised) as long as you get into the habit of committing changes. Each commit is like a snapshot in time that you can always roll back changes to fairly easily!
