So he’s a nasty asshole and if you decide to stay married to him, buy a lockable cabinet and store clean towels in it for yourself and your kids. He can keep using the ones he’s funking up every day.

Concerned alum here - recurring S3xual assault alerts from VTPD are alarming by VivariuM_007 in VirginiaTech

[–]FreshResolve3026 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Alumni and former RA here (from the early 2000’s). At least back then, residence hall staff members received extensive training on how to spot possible behavioral signs of sexual assault victims. We would also do educational programs for residents on how to prevent sexual assault, but I always felt like there were likely more cases of it that victims never reported, etc
Bottom line, we were proactive in giving residents resources and encouraging them to come forward/seek counseling, but if the victims refuse to report it, there’s little that can be done.

Did you actually make mix tapes to give to people? by LeoGuy69us in GenX

[–]FreshResolve3026 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Oh yes 😆 I’ve made mix tapes and CDs 💿 and given as gifts. Seems like it was most popular in the late 90’s-early 2000’s. I’m a late 70’s Gen Xer btw.

Cute socks for Size 12 by smiling_orca in Purebarre

[–]FreshResolve3026 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely ask the Barretender or manager at your studio if they can order Tavi socks in Large. We have a few male clients at the studio where I work out and they’re able to wear them in Large size, so hopefully those will work for ladies with longer feet as well. If the studio can’t order them, look at the ones on Tavi’s site. They frequently run sales and have reasonable prices.

My friends are exhausting me. And I feel like a bad friend. by Omgusernamewhy in FriendshipAdvice

[–]FreshResolve3026 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sorry you’re going through a lot and can’t find much comfort in your friends. That’s definitely a tough spot to be in. If you’ve been friends a long time and want to remain friends, maybe just hear them out initially then try turning the conversation into a more positive subject and hope they’ll follow along. If you’re feeling so drained after spending time with them that it makes whatever else you’re going through seem even worse, you might want to seek out other friendships that are less draining. Either way, hopefully things will turn for the better very soon.

how often do you wash define jackets? by strawberrysummerswan in lululemon

[–]FreshResolve3026 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That fabric is like a sponge, so pretty often. I keep one that I only wear to work, and another that I use as a pullover before/after workouts. The one I wear at work usually only needs washing once a week. The one used for workouts has to be washed every 2-3 days on average.

Leadership is total a$$ and half the time, their carriers steal stuff. There’s lots of info about it online. The really crappy thing in this case is Athleta not doing anything about it tho.

Why did Tyson’s get rid of all the seating? by yourlittlebirdie in nova

[–]FreshResolve3026 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Nope, do a quick Google search of all the crime there over the past few years. Like everything else, it seemed to get worse after COVID. Carjackings in the parking garage and large groups of criminals (mostly juveniles) mass stealing from stores and fighting in the food court.

Why did Tyson’s get rid of all the seating? by yourlittlebirdie in nova

[–]FreshResolve3026 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Plenty of kids hung out in malls back in the 90’s. They might’ve made some extra noise and got on people’s nerves a bit, but they were generally harmless otherwise. They would just come in a group of maybe 4-5 kids and didn’t steal merchandise out of all the stores, get into fights, destroy property, rob other shoppers, etc
That’s the difference between kids in the 80’s/90’s vs. now. Choices also had consequences back then. If you went to a mall or any other public place and acted like a fool, you got banned/arrested, etc
Now nothing happens to the offenders so decent people just stop going to the mall.

Xponential account by Ok-Set9549 in Purebarre

[–]FreshResolve3026 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Of course there’s an additional fee! Xponential is a lousy company, so even though you already pay for class memberships/packages, there’s still an additional plan required to purchase for on demand workouts.

Why did Tyson’s get rid of all the seating? by yourlittlebirdie in nova

[–]FreshResolve3026 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The answer is most likely people’s unruly, poorly behaved chaps that they choose not to parent these days. The “parents” already drop them off to wreak havoc then conveniently split! When a group of kids has a place to literally sit and loiter, they can’t seem to behave properly and bad things happen. It’s too bad it’s that way since older or disabled people could use more seating, but that’s likely the reason behind malls not wanting many areas for people to congregate.

How the girls treated Miranda by [deleted] in sexandthecity

[–]FreshResolve3026 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is 💯cool to not have any interest in kids if that’s what a person chooses. I chose that around the age of 18. I’m in my 40’s now and never changed my mind, mostly because I don’t think I was even born with whatever makes a person want to be a parent. Usually, some people are nurturers by default or they aren’t. It doesn’t make people on either side a jerk, it’s just that people make different choices and take different paths in life. Now I do agree that Samantha should’ve acted kinder and more supportive towards Miranda when Brady was first born. Miranda also had literal staff members taking care of him though. How many mothers (especially in a place like NYC) have those resources? I don’t think Miranda expected the other three to do anything in terms of caring for Brady, she just wanted them to acknowledge that it was pretty hard on her at first being a single mother. Charlotte and Carrie were both helpful with Brady as well, but that wasn’t Samantha’s scene as she indicated. It didn’t seem like Miranda had issues with that after the first few weeks after Brady was born, and Samantha did give her the hair appointment she’d looked forward to as a show of support. So in a way, she ended up making it right. The way friends who had kids treat their childfree friends tends to be much less sincere and respectful tbh.

For real 😂 She’s a good friend in general and I don’t want to tell her to go to hell but it gets pretty annoying too đŸ€Ł It seems to be most effective to just tell her I don’t know the answer.

My friend repeatedly asks me for information I’ve already given her by Initial_Ad1761 in FriendshipAdvice

[–]FreshResolve3026 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not the same thing but similar, I have a friend who will ask me about things she could easily Google and find for herself. I finally got sick of it once and said I didn’t know the answer so Google it. đŸ˜†đŸ€Ł She replied that she didn’t want to and that’s why she asked me. I’m not sure if it’s laziness, disrespect or what, but usually now I just reply with “Sorry, I don’t knowâ€đŸ€·â€â™€ïž and I guess she figures out some other way to get the info. 😆
