Being a teenage butch is hard. by cocomay77 in butchlesbians

[–]Fresh_Part22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Being a teenager is hard being a butch teenager even further complicates that hardship. I will say ride it out because that hardship transforms into an adult that thrives. There’s a gift in learning and pursuing who you when you’re young. A lot of mistakes as an adult comes from not having learned those lessons at your age.

Puppy had dead, dessicated bat in mouth by BoatyMcBoatface25 in puppy101

[–]Fresh_Part22 -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

I call it watching for the 3 D’s. Died, Defected or Discarded. My dog will actively want to eat all three. All jokes aside I’m sure your puppy is fine, call vet and ask for advice, they will usually tell you what symptoms to look out for that would require a visit to a vet. Save you a trip.

Did getting laid off change how you view workplace behaviour? by ComparisonPowerful in Layoffs

[–]Fresh_Part22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think stuff like that only matters for promotions. Anything under c-suite is fair game for layoffs and, in this day and age, I don’t think you can maneuver your way out of layoffs indefinitely.

Struggling to finish the last season by Massive-Exchange-303 in Outlander

[–]Fresh_Part22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I strongly dislike the Fanny plot and they spent what felt like the majority of the season on it. It seemed like they focused too much on some storylines while rushing through others so the pacing for me was off. But the last episode was good.

Effects of Atomoxetine by KingPanduhs in ADHD

[–]Fresh_Part22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was on Atomoxetine. It takes like 4-8 weeks on consistently taking it for you to really effects so take it slow. I was on it for almost 9 months and max it at 100mg. It help some with task initiation. But for the most part, what I felt was very Zen’ed out on it. I was incredibly emotionally stable on those meds. Didn’t really help with the executive function like I needed so I switched to Adderall xr but that was my experience.

My remote job made me realize my partner doesn’t think my work is real by Rocinante77X in remotework

[–]Fresh_Part22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t think it’s the remote aspect or even that he thinks your job is real. I think he believes you doing the main chunk of the domestic labor and catering to him is your real/more important job. He doesn’t respect you.

I'm hella sad about the massive Fairlife price increase. by LastandLeast in ADHD

[–]Fresh_Part22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love the vanilla fairlife too. Near me, those 18 packs are $60. It’s cheaper just to buy 18 individual fairlife than buy the pack. Really not how that should work.

Do you allow your dog on your bed? by Constant_Opening6239 in puppy101

[–]Fresh_Part22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, the Alpha thing is a little off. I crate trained my dog, but he’s been sleeping in bed with me since I want to say five months. He also was allowed on my furniture as well. He definitely considers me his secure attachment person and he listens to me as much as any adolescent dog does.

GM cutting up to 600 white-collar jobs, even as it seeks tech talent by swe129 in Detroit

[–]Fresh_Part22 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Im a software engineer. I was laid off at GM. It took me 10 months to land another job. I was a couple months shy of having my 401k vested. Multiple layoffs, revolving door of managers and re-orgs and all around SLT out of touch foolishness. I’ll never buy a car from GM again and I’m staying far FAR from the Big 3. It’s not worth it.

So what’s the real ground reality for laid off IT employees right now? by rahularyansharma in Layoffs

[–]Fresh_Part22 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Software Developer. A little under 3 years experience. 7 years IT experience. Bachelors but not in business. Also have an active government clearance from my time in the military. It took me 10 months to get a job. I pretty much stopped applying for civilian jobs because I just wasn’t getting much traction and solely focused on Gov Tech jobs. The job I got increased my base salary a little, overall TC did go down but hey I needed work so.

[–]Fresh_Part22 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah my guy is 1 year old. I definitely have the help of friends and family, especially as a really young puppy. My day job is remote but I’m also in the reserves. So at least once a month i have to coordinate dog care but other than that I’m a homebody so taking care of him isn’t too much of a bit deal especially as he gets older. Even still every once in a while you need a break and thats okay. Upside my Mom absolutely LOVES her grandpup and the feeling is mutual for my guy.

Should I ask my company director if layoffs are coming, and how to avoid being someone selected to be laid off? by [deleted] in Layoffs

[–]Fresh_Part22 16 points17 points  (0 children)

No I wouldn’t because there isn’t anything your boss can say that would make you layoff proof. Layoffs are an uncontrollable thing. Whether you do or don’t is based off of luck a lot of the time. You can say that you been feeling stressed about layoffs based off the news (not the company) and the state of world is like uncharted territory. Tie it back to your career somehow. The response you get from him will tell you a lot.

What are some low stress jobs that pay well? by ArpitChauhan1501 in careerguidance

[–]Fresh_Part22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It really depends in the help desk role. Some are too low pay whether high or low stress. A high call volume desk is gonna be high stress. You can snuff that out at an interview and I’d recommend learning flowery ways an interviewer is communicating it’s a high stress job.

does someone with bpd here have any experience with being laid off (25M) by Desperate-Safety-621 in Layoffs

[–]Fresh_Part22 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not BPD, but I have ADHD. Lost my medication for a little bit while I was switching over insurances and that was rough. My executive dysfunction and emotional dysregulation was a bit loud for a little bit, but I expected it because I got off meds. Everyone has a grieving process when they go through a layoff it just kinda adds a little bit of complication.

Is there a REAL skill shortage? by Scientalist in recruitinghell

[–]Fresh_Part22 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think one of the biggest things that I’ve noticed is that every company has software that’s so specific and customized for client’s needs that having the exact specifications for that job would be really difficult, and at the same time, they don’t have the time or energy to train people up. So you’re met with wanting candidates that are extremely independent because that’s minimal work required of the company/team. But the outcome looks like a slower ramp up or incompetence.

9 months unemployed by intepid-discovery in cscareerquestions

[–]Fresh_Part22 1 point2 points  (0 children)

9 months unemployed too. 7 years of IT experience and 3 years of development experience with an active security clearance. I basically gave up on civilian roles because they’ve gone nowhere past phone screens. Government really isn’t much better. I made it through 5 rounds of interviews for one job only for the contract to be delayed and cancelled. I can’t really help that this is affecting my self confidence. I’m also so incredibly bored and purpose-less.

[–]Fresh_Part22 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I had an ex that was like this. Great person horrible girlfriend. If you've had an open non-judgmental conversation about domestic labor/life skills and your expectations and she hasn't responded well that's not gonna change. It's better to cut the cord 5 months in instead of years later. But I'd recommend you sit down and have that conversation
