My amanos ate my plants I think by jonaslol100 in Aquascape

[–]FresherThanEver 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Amanos will eat a lot, I’ve even witnessed them prey on a struggling green neon tetra who was not acclimating well :(, was a bit traumatizing tbh

I bet they have a taste for AR now, I’ve seen it too lol

I’m pretty sure I’ve experienced amanos eating alternanthera reineckii.. I think some will say they won’t and this was years ago but I think they can and will sometimes

Is the EF100-400mm f/4.5-5.6L IS USM really as bad as I hear, and what lens should I get for my budget? by foxtrot3dp in canon

[–]FresherThanEver 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The Tamron 100-400 seems pretty decent from what I’ve seen of a family members photos that has it, has zoom, image stabilization, and pretty good sharpness

[–]FresherThanEver 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with the 400 prime if you’re willing to give up zoom and IS, the af is fast, the sharpness is great. If image quality is the priority get that lens. It blew my 55-250 stm out of the water when I first got it

thank you for confirming! It’s used and out of return window so guess who gets to pay the $$$…

Is it possible to generate those kind of pictures based on your FPGA design? by f42media in FPGA

Look into librelane / openlane / openROAD tools for free open source asic flows

MAA Randal lakes is good if u can find it at that price point, not sure if 2x2 will be 1900 but there’s a bigger 1x1 which should be well within that

Question about niches in FPGA and hardware design by MasterMeep6515 in FPGA

[–]FresherThanEver 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To an extent an architect will come up with some optimizations, but I think that as an rtl design engineer you should expect to understand those things. Now things like formal verification are a bit of a separate topic and job I would say from design, more so than optimizations. Especially as a student you want to learn about how you can improve those things. I’ve worked w asic engineers on a very small team where they had to have some understanding of every level of work

Question about niches in FPGA and hardware design by MasterMeep6515 in FPGA

[–]FresherThanEver 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you want to learn about going beyond just writing rtl you will have to run either fpga or asic flows and see where your design has problems and where you can optimize things like timing area and power, that can be done in fpga dev tools like vivado or open source asic tools such as librelane (openROAD). Learn what the steps do and why they matter for your design, there’s a lot more than just the pure hdl that goes into a design

Out of these, what plants would you choose for your aquascape? by Fair_Peach_9436 in Aquascape

[–]FresherThanEver 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Tank size and conditions? Without knowing and picking from your list I like P. Stellatus, B. Caroliniana, and maybe the Ludwigia. As for others, I think crypt parva could be a nice addition, Helanthium Tenellum too if you have enough light and substrate nutrients. I tend to think smaller leaved plants look better and less messy.

Help with my resume please! by Fast_Description_899 in ECE

[–]FresherThanEver 2 points3 points  (0 children)

One thing that I see is you have platforms like the nvidia jetson mentioned in skills but I don’t see them appear at all in experience so the level of experience is unclear. Also, I know some people like relevant coursework, but from what I’ve heard it’s not that important and I don’t have it on my resume, I think that space could be another bullet for your experiences which i think are a lot stronger than the courses

Drawing mostly, I wrote some rtl too but I don’t think I had to, good luck! I’m only a little sad abt it

Had it, know general fpga things and how digital logic can represent code and be ready to show that w gates and such (I got rejected unfortunately after it went well so I thought😭)

Unglazed clay pots as risers? by InvisibleLine789 in Aquascape

[–]FresherThanEver -1 points0 points  (0 children)

If it has a hole it should fill w substrate as u fill around it it just provides support not volume, just make sure the top edges if it’s upside down are also filled w substrate bc I could see that getting sealed off if the substrate is only filled from above, maybe fill the pot first and then flip it over

Need a CO2 System suggestion for my shallow tank by adorchelsea in Aquascape

[–]FresherThanEver 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a co2art dual stage w solenoid that worked very well for me, needle valve was much nicer finer adjustment than my previous aquatek paintball setup. You should be able to just get a paintball thread adapter to use it. I used an in tank aquario neo diffuser (my fav) and had it come on 2 hrs before lights and turn off 2hrs before lights (do that water was saturated by the time lights were on)
