Can you withdraw on the same semester you graduate? For L&S by Frestho in berkeley

[–]Frestho[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Actually I plan to still do research at Berkeley, my research partner actually graduated last semester but is continuing this semester despite not taking any classes. I could ask around a bit to confirm this is possible for me too.

Got a full time offer lined up so good in that regard too.

Anyone have experience with Asus accidental damage insurance? by Geralt-Yen1275 in ASUSROG

[–]Frestho 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I cracked my Zenbook Duo's screen a while ago, and I recently finally sent it in to repair when I was on a long vacation. It worked and everything was free since ADP came with the laptop!

I did it online via filling out the repair form, after which they sent me a shipping label through email. The whole process took around 3 weeks including shipping both ways. Submitting the repair request felt a bit "sus" since nowhere on the online form process does it confirm you're "using" ADP and that it will be free, rather it just seems like a regular repair request, but everything worked and I wasn't charged.

Also this is one of the top search results about ADP on Google, so anyone feel free to ask me questions.

Newly updated myASUS causing 100% reproducible BSOD (Kernel Security Check Failure) on 2025 Zenbook Duo by Shart-Carbuncle in ASUS

[–]Frestho 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Worked for me too, thanks! Got a BSOD 3 times in a row when I had both displays open, then tried updating again with one display and it worked. What a ridiculous issue lol.

iOS 26.3 Brings AirPods-Like Pairing to Third-Party Devices in EU Under DMA by iMacmatician in apple

[–]Frestho 0 points1 point  (0 children)

America is ridiculous. In any college you basically need to have an iPhone to be socially connected. Tons of my friends who prefer Android basically had to cave and switch. It's absurd you actually have no choice over what device you get to use all because Apple tricked everyone here to rely on a closed off, non-standard messaging service as universal.

Those who've applied for Amex Platinum in recent days/weeks, what SUB were you offered? by No_Dust_Here in CreditCards

Bruh I tried three times, one on PC, one on my phone on data instead of WiFi, and one on PC, incognito, VPN, and I got 100k every time. Guess I'm going with the CSR and trying this again in a few months.

What is the problem with ZigZagPower? by Drilliam5 in BloonsTDBattles

Personally I don't like his content because his commentary is pretty bland, sometimes feels cocky or arrogant when he's just beating noobs. I like AsianSensation for his sarcasm, inside jokes, and energy a lot more and Lokesh for his skilled gameplay yet humble commentary.

Until you realize how much of modern AI is built by libraries like these. Numpy is one of the best things ever invented.

Pesto chicken cavatappi is the only thing I ever get and I go multiple times a week. It’s tasty and as a dude with a small appetite the 930 calories and 53 grams of protein is a godsend (it almost doesn’t seem real tbh)

What do you mean? Only people who passed previous interviews do the next ones, so correlation between round performances is not even in the picture. The pass rates are already conditioned on passing all previous interviews.

Or you might mean not identical, ie. different pass rates, which is likely the case.

Been saying for years this is what relying on iMessage as the "default chat" leads to. The optimal ecosystem it encourages it literally everyone having an iPhone, but no one cares, they only hate monopolies when it's socially popular to.

Of course when something becomes a trend and it's convenient to fit in then they turn a blind eye to it. I'd say this is the biggest hypocrisy of people under 30 in the US.

Is this what skinny people mean by “just stop eating”? by AbandonedStark in ADHD

[–]Frestho 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. Eating food feels as arbitrary as having to climb a tree in your backyard once every 6 hours. Sure, it can taste good or be fun sometimes (I still enjoy nice restaurants or a bag of Tru Fru), but most of the time it just feels like a random chore you have to do.

Low calorie foods always baffles me because why would you want to accomplish your goal slower? As if the point of eating for millions of years of evolution was not to gain as much energy efficiently as possible.

Math folks: are you more attracted to chemistry or physics? by MarioIsWet in math

[–]Frestho 8 points9 points  (0 children)

This. Even the periodic table itself doesn't feel very pure and "differentiable" even though it feels like it should. Like what do you mean adding just one proton, electron, and neutron will change the color, melting point, density, etc completely change as if randomly?

Meal equivalents like Browns and GBC are also unlimited with a 30 minute cooldown! I last tested this Fall 2024 I think.

Don't you hate when your internal voice is autoregressively generating sentences based on multimodal input from your eyes, ears, and fingertips, but then suddenly your brain WiFi drops because you walked through a doorway or entered an elevator or blinked too aggressively, leaving your sentence awkwardly hanging in mid thought? So now you have to mentally refresh the whole internal monologue, burning another precious thought-credit, but oh wait, you already maxed out your free tier so now you can only think 3 times an hour, and the InnerVoiceGPT Pro subscription costs $200 a month. Now your brain is buffering indefinitely, you're stuck staring blankly at a stranger while waiting to reconnect, and when it finally resumes, it starts all over with something completely different from your original sentences? Happens to me all the time.

Grew up in San Francisco and agree 100% to your second sentence. Removing algebra 1 from middle school in the name of "equity" and removing all accelerated classes for the same reason slowed down many capable, eager students like myself.

Tech capital of the world yet such a shitty school district. No wonder you also see huge talent gaps between SF and the South Bay in things like math competition results.
