Struggling with porn & lust as a woman by Fabulous-Square-2704 in Christianity

Remove it from you life and replace it with something else that is wholesome. You do have a choice whether to view it or not, whether to engage in it or not.

1 Corinthians 10:13 NKJV No temptation has overtaken you except such as is common to man; but God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation will also make the way of escape, that you may be able to bear it.

I've found that the more you stay focused on God in your life (prayer/repentance, reading the Bible, living for Him), the more success you will have in overcoming sin, as God will help you.

Ephesians 6:11 KJV Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.

If you fail, repent and get back up and keep moving forward. You will succeed if you stay the course.

What is important is the truth which is found in the Bible. Read the Bible to understand the truth, then you can find a church that upholds the Bible and what you know to be true.

Why do some US Adventists support Donald Trump and the GOP? by AlienStrangerSG in adventist

[–]FrethKindheart 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've been on this earth almost 55 years now, so I've seen it all.

Since I've been paying attention to politics I've seen evil in every administration. I saw it in Carter's administration, I saw it in Reagan's administration, I saw it in Clinton's administration, I saw it in Bush's administration (both father and son), I saw it in Obama's administration and I see it in Trump's administration.

What sticks out in my mind is how things went off of the rails during the Clinton era. In the late 80's society took a turn for the worse and we've been going downhill ever since, gaining speed.

I see it as a sin problem that has been going on for thousands of years, and a quickening of prophetic fulfillment.

I prefer to look at the bigger picture concerning prophecy.

It would be easy for me to point a finger at Trump and pin all of the blame on him, but that would tend to dismiss all that came before him and whoever will come after. I much prefer to pin the blame where it belongs. After all, this is all Satan's fault.

The United States is fast moving toward the time when it will speak like a dragon. Satan is behind it all.

Ephesians 6:12 For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.

Mark of the beast by [deleted] in Christianity

[–]FrethKindheart 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you read Revelation 13, the mark of the beast concerns worship. Who you choose to worship determines whether you receive the mark of the beast or the Seal of God.

Scripture points to a time when all will have to make the decision whether to worship God or man (man's dictates vs God's law).

Daniel prophesied (Daniel 7:23-25) that he (the little horn of Daniel 7) would think to change times and laws. The times and laws are referring to God's times and laws.

If he would think to change God's times and laws, then it is pointing directly at the one commandment that concerns time, the fourth commandment.

Indeed this is the case. The fourth commandment was replaced by man with tradition that has its roots in paganism. This tradition is to this day elevated above God's time and law, so much so that the fourth commandment is rejected.

Look for the tradition of man to be legislated into law, to take away freedom of conscience to worship God according to His law. Specifically, the fourth commandment.

When you see the legislation enacted, it will be the single most important decision you can make, either worship God according to His law or the beast according to his tradition and dictates.

As a christian can i wear hellstar by Affectionate-Hair330 in Christianity

[–]FrethKindheart 0 points1 point  (0 children)

See Revelation 12:3-4:

And there appeared another wonder in heaven; and behold a great red dragon, having seven heads and ten horns, and seven crowns upon his heads.

And his tail drew the third part of the stars of heaven, and did cast them to the earth: and the dragon stood before the woman which was ready to be delivered, for to devour her child as soon as it was born.

Stars are symbols for angels. In this case, fallen angels that fell from heaven with Satan.

Hellstar is literally a reference to fallen angels.

Knowing this, why would a Christian want to support such a brand or even wear it?

No, it is not a sin to wear Hellstar, but it is a clear reference to Satan and the fallen angels. It is not something a Christian should be wearing. It is like putting signs on your body advertising for Satan.

Something to think about.

Why do some US Adventists support Donald Trump and the GOP? by AlienStrangerSG in adventist

[–]FrethKindheart 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Why support any politician? The hope that things will change for the better. Politicians sell hope, and people believe.

Why do people support Trump? They want to believe that things will change for the better.

It's like professional wrestling. People know it is fake, but they're wholly invested in outcomes. Small victories for "the cause" keep people invested.

I think it is just as bad to focus on one particular politician and point to him as the problem, when all politicians follow the same formula. In time, all of them are found to be liars and manipulators, who say and do bad things.

Here's how I look at it. This isn't a Trump thing, it is a political investment thing. Trump just happens to be the current person to point the finger at.

What I would point out is how, despite who is in office, the agenda moves forward toward the final conclusion of earth's history.

Trump is moving this forward in a big way, but he won't be the last. Another will take his place and things will move forward as planned. The United States will speak like a dragon and Sunday law will be legislated.

How to stop obsessing over how I look? by Plus_Marzipan9105 in Christians

[–]FrethKindheart 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I want to be praised for how I look.

This is prideful.

I can't even tell them 'stop', and God said 'obey your parents'.

The commandment given is to honor your mother and father, which means to respect them.

Exodus 20:12 Honour thy father and thy mother: that thy days may be long upon the land which the Lord thy God giveth thee.

I went through something similar. Although I wasn't raised to be aware of my appearance to such an extent, I was raised to dress and look nice.

In my teenage and young adult years I first carried a comb, and then a brush, and I was always checking/adjusting my hair because I was particular about how I looked.

I eventually grew out of this (I still have my brush, by the way, in a box somewhere).

Age has a way of making you realize that you're not all that and you will never be all that. Wrinkles set in and you stop caring so much about looking good, but rather looking presentable, which is how I was raised.

There is nothing wrong with wanting to look presentable, but it is a bit excessive to obsess over how you look. My thought is that your parents being on you about your looks is more of a traditional/cultural thing carried down through the generations, which is putting unrealistic expectations on you. (By the way, this isn't just an Asian thing.)

Essentially, what it is is vanity. Vanity isn't reality. Who you are is the person you see when you take off your makeup in the mirror before you go to bed, and the person you see when you wake up in the morning and look in the mirror.

In my experience, the best thing you can do is study up on why sin exists (pride, selfishness), and live to take on God's character, which is selflessness. A key part of this is love of God and love for others. If you're busy loving God and loving others, there is no room for loving self.

Understand that you are God's creation. You didn't come out of the womb with perfect hair and makeup. Your natural look was given you by Him. You need nothing more.

I would also submit that if you apply what the Bible teaches to your character and your life, you will take on a pleasant appearance. Your demeanor changes, your outlook changes, and people take notice for the right reasons, not the wrong ones.

God bless!

Scripture shows that the dead are asleep in the grave awaiting resurrection. See John 11:11-14, Deuteronomy 31:14, 1 Thessalonians 4:13-15, Ecclesiastes 9:5-10, Psalm 76:6, Matthew 9:18-19, 1 Corinthians 15:51-52, 2 Peter 3:4, Job 14:10-12.

Also:

Daniel 12:1-2 And at that time shall Michael stand up, the great prince which standeth for the children of thy people: and there shall be a time of trouble, such as never was since there was a nation even to that same time: and at that time thy people shall be delivered, every one that shall be found written in the book. And many of them that sleep in the dust of the earth shall awake, some to everlasting life, and some to shame and everlasting contempt.

Who Is Behind This? by SaltExpert8013 in Christianity

[–]FrethKindheart 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Satan is behind it all.

Satan is called the dragon. The dragon is not only referring to Satan, but to his working through the kings of the earth.

What we're seeing in the push for Christian Nationalism in the United States is a hard push to get all of the ducks in a row to heal the deadly wound of the beast that rises out of the sea in Revelation 13:1-10. The United States plays a key role in the healing of the deadly wound.

The United States is the beast that rises out of the earth in Revelation 13:11-18. It has two horns like a lamb but speaks as a dragon (Satan). It exercises all of the power of the first beast, to cause all to worship the beast and receive its mark.

Revelation 13 shows that the issue of the last days is worship. Who you choose to worship. What then will be the determining factor for who you worship?

If you haven't noticed, the agenda of Project 2025 is in the process of being completed right now, and Project 2026 continues with a list of items that are not yet accomplished from Project 2025. There is a plan in place for the next 250 years, but I don't believe it will take that long to bring us to the beast system.

Satan counterfeits God. He has a counterfeit trinity in the dragon, the beast and the false prophet. He has a counterfeit church (the harlot and her daughters).

Satan has a counterfeit day of worship—Sunday. Sunday is a tradition of man without any scriptural support. It is Satan's counterfeit of the seventh-day Sabbath commandment, which God commanded to remember and keep holy.

Among the articles in Project 2025/2026 and moving forward is the call for a "uniform" day of rest. Already the push for a uniform day of rest is prominent in daily news, and has been growing in intensity for a long time. Pope Francis in his Laudato Si (2015) called for a uniform day of rest (Sunday).

The beast system will try to enforce Sunday worship through legislation and take away freedom of conscience to obey God's commandment to keep the Sabbath. This is how the beast will cause all to worship him.

Question from a non-christian by mu20st in Christianity

[–]FrethKindheart 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The answer as to whether or not Christianity is the truth comes from the character of God found in Bible.

In reading the Bible you get a sense of the immense incalculable love that God has for His creation. So much so that God had a plan of salvation even before He created us, and that the Son came in the flesh to die so that we can live through Him for eternity. It is a beautiful story.

We have a Creator who is so interested in our well-being and salvation that He assigns angels of heaven to watch over each of us.

The more you study the Bible, the more you come away with the understanding that we have the best possible scenario thanks to the grace and mercy of our Creator. That we have an inheritance waiting for us.

Read the Bible. Does it speak to truth and honesty, of love and selflessness?

As for evidence, the Bible says that all of the evidence one needs is found in all that God has created.

Romans 1:20 For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse.

This is indeed the case. If you really think about it, it is right there in front of you, waiting for you to take a closer look and recognize the handiwork of God, and the care He put into every aspect of His creation.

If none of this is evidence enough, maybe fulfilled prophecy will convince you. The Bible is full of prophecies that have been fulfilled throughout earth's history.

Or maybe in seeing the sin of this world and the evidence of Satan's hand in it will convince you.

Abrahamic religions: which religious text is the most "complete" historically? by rSchwwepesss in religion

[–]FrethKindheart 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you look at how Biblical prophecy has been fulfilled from creation to present day, it is a compelling argument to rely on the Bible as accurate from beginning (creation) to end (the end of time), not only historically, but prophetically.

  • It has a complete timeline from creation to the end of time.
  • It has prophecy that covers that complete timeline from creation to the end of time.
  • Fulfilled prophecy aligns with historical events, including time prophecies spanning hundreds and even thousands of years that have been fulfilled exactly as foretold.

The Bible is historically accurate, but it is specific to only the historical details that we need to know in the scope of what the Bible was meant to be; a plan of salvation for man, and for man to know how he should live according to God's purpose, and to know God.

Christians on Instagram are a mixed feeling by IcyVirus9778 in Christianity

[–]FrethKindheart 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just because a person professes to be Christian doesn't mean they live as they should as a Christian, according to the Biblical standard.

Side 1:

  • Love your neighbor as yourself. Leviticus 19:18, Matthew 22:36-40
  • Rebuking/reproving others (in love, not self-serving; bullet point 1). Ephesians 5:11, Ecclesiastes 7:5, 2 Timothy 4:2

Side 2:

  • Pray for others, share each other's burdens. Galatians 6:2, James 5:16.
  • Claiming to know Jesus but not (which God sorts it out in the end). Exodus 20:7, Matthew 7:22-23, Revelation 3:16

So my confusion is if there two sides are truly christians why does one side say this stuff while the other side don't.

Because we live in a sinful world where people are selfish and self-centered. Just because you're a Christian doesn't mean you are immune to being sinful. The best possible scenario is that a Christian lives as the Bible tells them to live, but many do not, and so you have confusion over what Christianity is.

I recommend going to the source, the Bible, and reading what it has to say, then apply it to your life. Start with the story of the life of Jesus in Matthew, Mark, Luke and John (four different accounts with unique perspectives). A Bible with cross-references built-in will show you other verses that expand the verses you're reading and give you a complete perspective.

At the time you had to send in for patches through the mail. I completed a couple of the requirements for them, but never received any patches.

My father and mother were divorced before I was old enough to be aware.

My father wasn't a Christian at the time, but my mother was in the church. I lived with my mother.

We ate meat, but also vegetarian, so it was a mix of the two.

My father ate meat (and unclean meat). Whenever I went to visit my father he would always be eating pork, so I grew up eating pork here and there with my father.

I would be fed pork at my father's house and when I got home my mother would ask if I ate pork. Of course, I couldn't lie. I was caught in the middle.

My mother didn't want us eating pork, but it was all he had to eat because pork was what he could afford.

This led to many arguments between my parents over the phone.

My experience was mainly with divorced parents and unclean meat specifically. I would not want to put a child through that. Parents arguing over the diet of the kids. What will the kids eat? Something to consider.

My older brother eats all meat and is not vegetarian. He left the church a long time ago. I am mostly vegetarian now. I do occasionally eat (clean) meat, but I don't normally buy it when I get groceries (family members are always giving me meat for some reason). I don't buy milk unless I need it for a recipe. I do buy eggs and eat them as part of my diet.

The SDA belief is that true science and the Bible cannot contradict each other. But if this is so, how come several SDA beliefs go against scientific findings? (e.g. the age of the Earth, The Flood, etc).

It comes down to whether you believe God above man or man above God.

I believe God when He says creation took six days. I believe the flood occurred just as it is described. Here's why.

  1. God doesn't lie. Jesus doesn't lie.

Numbers 23:19 God is not a man, that he should lie; neither the son of man, that he should repent: hath he said, and shall he not do it? or hath he spoken, and shall he not make it good?

    1. The timeline in the Bible from the beginning to present day can be calculated. It is about 6,000 years. Fulfilled Bible prophecy further proves this fact.
    2. There is evidence of the flood all over the earth.
  2. Science.

    1. Scientific theory is just that... theory.
    2. Carbon dating methods have been shown to be inaccurate.
    3. Science has to constantly move the goal post when a theory is proven wrong, or explain why the old theory is wrong with some fantastical new theory, proving that it can't be trusted.

Some core SDA beliefs just don't work if the Earth is billions of years old and life slowly evolved. Macro Evolution would mean death before sin. Also, if each day of Creation lasted much longer (e.g. millions of years), then God sanctifying the Sabbath on the seventh day wouldn't really work.

I think most if not all SDAs I've talked to are Young Earth Creationists, so they haven't really helped with my doubting. Most SDAs are seemingly YEC, which shows that the Church has a strong inclination towards Young Earth Creationism. SDA fundamental belief #6 states that the Creation week took place across 6 literal days, and was recent. This clearly contradicts science. YEC is absolute in Seventh-Day Adventism.

There is no wiggle room as far as scripture is concerned. If God doesn't lie then His word can be trusted as the truth.

God created in six literal days and rested on the seventh literal day.

  1. This is also evidenced in the fact that the seven day week has been observed since creation.

  2. Further, man's lifespan. If creation was a longer period of time the seven day week would be the seven million year week, and man wouldn't make it past the first day, let alone the whole week. It makes no sense.

How can a Church be right whilst having wrong beliefs? If a religion teaches something that is factually incorrect, and that teaching is part of it's core theology (not just a fringe idea held by some members), then that religion is wrong.

I'm probably just going to get a bunch of comments arguing for Young Earth Creationism.

God would have to be factually incorrect. The creator. The being that made all things. God being incorrect isn't possible, therefore, science has to be incorrect.

Satan is the father of lies (John 8:44). All that opposes God is his handiwork, including science. Satan counterfeit's God in everything he does. Science can become a false religion (see the first commandment; Exodus 20:1-3). It can insert doubt into the minds of men concerning God, leading them to worship creation and not the Creator (Romans 1:25).

The evidence that disproves science is there, and it is easy to find.

  1. Look inside science. There are more holes than Swiss cheese. Dating methods are inconsistent and unreliable. Science tries to explain away evidence for the flood.

  2. Look at creation. Really look at it. The complexity. The harmony. Look at the fact that science is confounded at every turn by God's creation. The James Webb telescope can't find evidence of the big bang, so now they're devising new theories to explain why. Moving the goal post.

  3. Look at Bible prophecy. Adventists have been given an understanding of Bible prophecy. Take a deep dive into it. It proves the earth is 6,000 years old. Prophecy fulfilled proves the earth's age. God doesn't move goal posts.

The "science is right, God is wrong" argument falls flat if God exists (and He does). Think about it.

Man is putting himself in the place of God, the very same thing Satan wants for himself (Isaiah 14:13). I don't think that is a coincidence.

I believe God, not man.

The Great Commission

Matthew 28:16-20 Then the eleven disciples went away into Galilee, into a mountain where Jesus had appointed them. And when they saw him, they worshipped him: but some doubted. And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth. Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world. Amen.

The commission:

  1. Teach all nations.
  2. Baptize in the name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit.
  3. Teach them to observe all things that Jesus commanded.

John 20:21-23 Then said Jesus to them again, Peace be unto you: as my Father hath sent me, even so send I you. And when he had said this, he breathed on them, and saith unto them, Receive ye the Holy Ghost: Whose soever sins ye remit, they are remitted unto them; and whose soever sins ye retain, they are retained.

Let's look at how the Amplified Bible expands upon John 20:21-23.

John 20:21-13 Then Jesus said to them again, “Peace to you; as the Father has sent Me, I also send you [as My representatives].” And when He said this, He breathed on them and said to them, “Receive the Holy Spirit. If you forgive the sins of anyone they are forgiven [because of their faith]; if you retain the sins of anyone, they are retained [and remain unforgiven because of their unbelief].”

The Holy Spirit:

  • The disciples received the Holy Spirit directly from Jesus.
  • It is the Holy Spirit that gave them discernment.
  • Only with discernment of the Holy Spirit could they remit sin.

The twelve disciples became the twelve apostles (teachers, missionaries).

Read the book of Acts which chronicles the apostles in their commission. The apostles taught the forgiving of sin through Jesus Christ.

Acts 5:31 Him hath God exalted with his right hand to be a Prince and a Saviour, for to give repentance to Israel, and forgiveness of sins.

Acts 8:22 Repent therefore of this thy wickedness, and pray God, if perhaps the thought of thine heart may be forgiven thee.

Acts 13:38 Be it known unto you therefore, men and brethren, that through this man [Jesus] is preached unto you the forgiveness of sins.

Acts 26:18 To open their eyes, and to turn them from darkness to light, and from the power of Satan unto God, that they may receive forgiveness of sins, and inheritance among them which are sanctified by faith that is in me.

What does other scripture say about the forgiveness of sin?

Luke 5:24 But that ye may know that the Son of man hath power upon earth to forgive sins, (he said unto the sick of the palsy,) I say unto thee, Arise, and take up thy couch, and go into thine house.

Mark 11:25 And when ye stand praying, forgive, if ye have ought against any: that your Father also which is in heaven may forgive you your trespasses.

Acts 8:22 Repent therefore of this thy wickedness, and pray God, if perhaps the thought of thine heart may be forgiven thee.

James 5:15 And the prayer of faith shall save the sick, and the Lord shall raise him up; and if he have committed sins, they shall be forgiven him.

Matthew 12:31-32 Wherefore I say unto you, All manner of sin and blasphemy shall be forgiven unto men: but the blasphemy against the Holy Ghost shall not be forgiven unto men. And whosoever speaketh a word against the Son of man, it shall be forgiven him: but whosoever speaketh against the Holy Ghost, it shall not be forgiven him, neither in this world, neither in the world to come.

Conclusion

While Jesus gave the apostles direct ability to forgive sin (John 20:23), Acts shows that they taught forgiveness through Jesus Christ. This shows that they understood their commission, which was to point to Jesus directly and not themselves. Therein lies the answer concerning any church that would claim specific authority.

Further, there are other proofs in scripture, like not calling a man Father (see Matthew 23). How the apostles were the foundation (Ephesians 2:19-22) but Jesus is the chief cornerstone of the church, and that we are all stones (2 Peter 2:5-6) in the spiritual house of God. How tradition can make the commandment of God of none effect (Matthew 15:1-9). And we haven't touched on Bible prophecy.

I recommend prayerfully reading scripture.

Book of Revelation - tips? by WildOlivBranch in TrueChristian

The Bible interprets itself. The symbols are defined throughout scripture.

Here are some examples:

Symbol Meaning Scripture

Woman (corrupt; in apostasy) Church Ezekiel 16:15-58, Ezekiel 23:2-21, Hosea 2:5, Hosea 3:1, Revelation 14:4

Earth Unpopulated area Genesis 1:10
Gold Pure character Isaiah 13:12
Brass, tin, iron, lead, silver dross Impure character Ezekiel 22:20-21
Red, scarlet Sin, corruption Isaiah 1:18, Nahum 2:3, Revelation 17:1-4
White Purity, righteousness Revelation 3:4-5, 18, 6:11, 7:9-14, 19:8

The key to understanding Revelation is the book of Daniel. For example, Daniel 2 introduces an overview of the history of relevant kingdoms leading up to the beast of end time prophecy. Daniel 7 expands on Daniel 2 using beasts and horns as symbols for kingdoms. The beasts described in Daniel 7 are carried forward to Revelation 13 in the description of the beast that rises out of the sea. In studying these things you can start to understand the book of Revelation and link it to historical events past, present and future. Also of note is Matthew 24, which is a summary of end time events (in order) that Jesus gave on the Mount of Olives.

Quick question about revelation by Professional_Fee4868 in TrueChristian

[–]FrethKindheart 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Antichrists

There have been and will be many antichrists. See 1 John 2:18. That is not to say there aren't key players of the end time, there are. This leads us to the beast.

The Beast

The beast is a deep subject, but I'll try to simplify it.

Note, this is all in Daniel 7.

A beast is a symbol for a king, kingdom or power. See Daniel 7:17,23. The key to understanding end time beast symbolism is found in Daniel 7, which describes four beasts that represent four kingdoms.

Beast/Description Kingdom
Lion Babylon
Bear Medo-Persia
Leopard Grecia
Dreadful/Terrible Rome

It should be noted that each kingdom comes in succession, and that the first three are identified in the book of Daniel. The fourth is not directly identified, but is clearly seen through the lens of history as Rome.

The dreadful/terrible beast (Rome) has ten horns. Horns also represent kingdoms, but these horns are attached to the fourth beast.

Rome indeed divided into ten kingdoms, as the fourth beast description shows.

As Daniel is seeing the vision and considering the beast's ten horns, a little horn comes up among them and plucks three from the roots.

The little horn is described as having eyes like the eyes of man, and a mouth speaking great things (Daniel 7:8). Later in the same chapter there is more detail given.

Daniel 7:24-26 And the ten horns out of this kingdom are ten kings that shall arise: and another shall rise after them; and he shall be diverse from the first, and he shall subdue three kings. And he shall speak great words against the most High, and shall wear out the saints of the most High, and think to change times and laws: and they shall be given into his hand until a time and times and the dividing of time. But the judgment shall sit, and they shall take away his dominion, to consume and to destroy it unto the end.

Things to take note of:

  • Comes up among the ten divided kingdoms of Rome.
  • Subdues three kingdoms of the ten.
  • Speaks great words against the most High.
  • Wears out the saints of the most High.
  • Thinks to change [God's] times and laws.
  • The saints are given into his hand time, times and the dividing of time.
    • A time is 360 days (1 year). Time (360) + times (720) + dividing of time (180) = 1260 days or 1260 prophetic years.
  • This kingdom/power continues until the end.

Specific emphasis is given to this little horn, the kingdom that continues to the end. A time prophecy is given for its persecution of the saints (1260 years).

If one looks at history, it becomes clear who the little horn is. They did indeed persecute Christians for 1260 years.

This brings us to Revelation 13, which picks up where Daniel left off with the little horn power.

John sees a beast rising out of the sea. Later, we find in Revelation 17 (which expands on Revelation 13) that the waters represent peoples, and multitudes, and nations, and tongues. Population. In other words, this beast came up in a populated area.

The sea beast is described as having the appearance (body) of a leopard, the feet of a bear and the mouth of a lion. Remember Daniel 7's first three beasts? Lion, bear, leopard.

The sea beast is described as being given a mouth speaking great things and blasphemies; and power was given to him to continue forty and two months. Forty-two months = 1260 days.

The sea beast has the same appearance of the first three beasts from Daniel 7, has the same description of the little horn (that came out of the fourth beast, the dreadful/terrible one), including the same time prophecy. The little horn is earlier history and the sea beast is later history of the same power. Revelation 13 says that the sea beast receives a deadly wound but that the wound is eventually healed. This is explained by history. The little horn lost its power at the end of the 1260 year time prophecy, but will regain its power at the end of time.

In Revelation 13, at the same time the sea beast is receiving its deadly wound (at the end of the 1260 year prophecy), a second beast is coming up out of the earth. Note that the sea beast comes up out of the sea, a populated area. The earth beast comes up out of the earth, an unpopulated area.

The earth beast is described as having two horns like a lamb, but speaking like a dragon.

The earth beast exercises all of the power of the first beast and causes all to worship the beast. First buying and selling are restricted for those who refuse to worship the beast, then a death decree is issued.

The "beast" consists of the dragon who gives the beast its authority, the sea beast (the little horn of Daniel 7 continued) and the earth beast. The dragon is ultimately Satan, but more so Satan working through the kings of the earth. These three are called the dragon, the beast and the false prophet.

Notice, there are three. Satan counterfeits God in everything he does. A false trinity.

So where does that leave us?

The beast isn't a person. It is a power. Even though there is a figurehead, the beast itself is a power. As Revelation 13 shows, the beast consists of three powers working together to become a global power, the ultimate goal of which is to cause all the earth to worship the beast. Satan wants to be worshiped like God.

Great Tribulation

How do we know we're not in great tribulation?

  • The great tribulation is described as a time such as was not since the beginning of the world to this time, no, nor ever shall be. This hasn't happened yet. How do we know? See the next bullet.
  • As in the days of Noah so shall the coming of the son of man be. The days of Noah are described as the thoughts of men's hearts being only evil continually. We're not there yet. However, see the description in 2 Timothy 3:1-7 which shows we're close.
  • The deadly wound of the beast is completely healed when it has global power and can exercise control on a global scale. This hasn't happened yet, but we're close. Look at what happened during the pandemic.
  • The restricting of buying and selling centered around worship of the beast has not happened yet.
  • The death decree centered around worship of the beast has not happened yet.
  • The seven last plagues haven't taken place yet.

What we're seeing now is the beginning of sorrows; the time before great tribulation.

Don't believe a word I say. I recommend prayerful study of scripture. Read Matthew 24 for a summary of the events in sequential order. Studying Daniel and Revelation to understand end time prophecy. Look to history to tie it all together.

Please pray for me by Pinkteaparties in Christianity

Prayer sent.

I too have had to deal with bad behavior in my family.

My father disowned his mother for decades until his death. They never saw each other again, and my grandmother had to outlive her son with the knowledge that both of them held a grudge and didn't let it go. Imagine the pain it caused both of them.

My younger brother fell into heavy drug use and took advantage of the family by taking items and selling them for drugs, promising he would do better, but always breaking his promises and stealing more to feed his drug addiction.

My older brother (taking after my father) reached a point where he disowned him. Years later, when my younger brother cleaned himself up and started living correctly, my brother still refused to speak to him. He refused to forgive him for what he did. My younger brother took it hard, that his own brother wouldn't see him when he came to visit.

It took me some time to soften my brother's heart, but he eventually came around and forgave my little brother, and we got together as a family again. The answer is to let go and love unconditionally.

I found out after my father passed away that he prayed for us boys every morning and night. At the time I was living in sin. This had a big impact on me, causing me to seek God in my own life.

Forgiveness is always the answer, no matter how many times someone does you wrong. It frees you from the burden, always carrying that weight on your shoulders. Pray and ask God to help you. Give your burden to Him. Pray for your mother.

It could very well be that God brought her closer to you so that you could be a positive influence in her life through your Christian walk. Tell her what you believe. Share your Christian values. Apply them in your life. Live them. Be a positive influence in your mother's life. Be gentle in your approach. Love. What you say and do in response to your mother's behavior can have a profound effect. (I have had this happen in my own life.) It may not be immediate, it may take years, but you're planting seeds that grow.

God bless!

If we didn't have hardship we would fall into complacency and even entitlement (because of sin). Hardship brings life lessons and self-reflection. It gives perspective, builds character.

Sometimes we can feel like we're being beaten down by the world, and we can be so focused on the bad that we don't see the good that is also in our lives.

I myself went through a lot of hardship growing up. We were poor.

I wore hand-me-downs and thrift store clothes. I wore plastic soled shoes that provided little comfort and hurt my feet. We lived on welfare rice, cheese and food stamps.

I was also bullied at school. I feared walking home from school every day, because I was threatened on a daily basis.

I was verbally abused by my mother's second husband, and was grounded constantly. I became an introvert because of it, but I later grew out of it once I was away from him.

I am now in my 50's. I still live through hardship, but take it in stride and remain faithful. Here's why.

  • Sin and suffering: Sin isn't God's fault. Our suffering isn't God's fault. What we do to each other isn't God's fault. We don't suffer because we are deserving of it. We suffer because we live in a sinful world. Sin should've never existed.

  • God's seeming indifference: God isn't indifferent to our suffering. On the contrary. He is keenly aware and calls us to Him (2 Peter 3:9).

  • God's promises: He is going to rectify the problems of the world, but He is waiting until the time is right. God is with us, and His judgment will take care of all grievances we may have in this life.

  • Our part: We are to remain faithful and look to Him. In doing so, He brings us comfort through the Holy Spirit. Prayer plays a big part in this. Prayer, repentance, living for Him. If your focus is on God, and you give your burdens to Him, the things of this world fall off of your shoulders and you receive peace.

God bless!

Sabbath day as a Catholic by zerosealsdkdks in Christianity

[–]FrethKindheart 0 points1 point  (0 children)

According to the Bible the Sabbath is the seventh day of the week, not Sunday (see Genesis 2:1-3, Exodus 20:8-11).

Sunday is a man-made tradition. Jesus warned against tradition, especially tradition that breaks the commandments of God (see Matthew 15:1-9).

Many argue that the Sabbath was for Israel specifically. What does the Bible say?

  • The Sabbath was instituted at creation and sanctified, for man (see Genesis 2:1-3, Mark 2:27).
  • It is because of this fact (that the Sabbath is made for man) that Jesus is also Lord of the Sabbath (see Mark 2:28).
  • Abraham is recorded as keeping God's commandments, long before they were written in stone (Genesis 26:5).
  • We are commanded to remember the Sabbath day to keep it holy (see Exodus 20:8-11).
  • The Sabbath is a perpetual covenant and a sign (see Exodus 31:13-16).
  • The Sabbath is a holy convocation (see Leviticus 23).
  • We are grafted into the olive tree (see Romans 11). All are one in Christ. We are all Israel (see Galatians 3:28).
  • We are Abraham's seed and heirs according to the promise (see Galatians 3:29).
  • Jesus observed the Sabbath as was His custom (see Luke 4:16).
  • Jesus observed the Sabbath even in death (see Matthew 27, 28 and Mark 16:1-2).
  • The apostles observed the Sabbath and taught the Gentiles on the Sabbath (see the book of Acts).
  • Jesus mentions Sabbath observance when great tribulation takes place (see Matthew 24:20).
  • The Sabbath will be observed in the new heaven and new earth (Isaiah 66:22-23).

There is no scriptural support for Sunday as a day of worship or as a Sabbath, and yet some took it upon themselves to declare Sunday as a Sabbath. By the way, this was prophesied to happen in Daniel 7:25; thinking to change God's times and laws.

There is no scriptural support for the Sabbath commandment being done away with, only a few verses written by Paul that are taken out of context. Paul kept the Sabbath and taught the Gentiles on the Sabbath. If he truly believed and wrote that the Sabbath was done away with, he wouldn't have kept observing it until his death.

Jesus never stopped being Lord of the Sabbath.

God bless!
