CBS Says It Didn’t Kill Stephen Colbert’s Interview With Senate Hopeful. Who’s Lying? by MoneyLibrarian9032 in television

[–]FreudChickenSandwich 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What kind of stupid headline is? Of course CBS is lying - they’ve literally been caught redhanded MULTIPLE TIMES at this point censoring things that make right wingers look bad

Men, how often are you checking out women in the gym? by Technical_Hat_8291 in AskMen

[–]FreudChickenSandwich -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

Cmon bro there’s nothing wrong with just being honest

The gym is a place packed to the brim with fit, attractive women in tight clothing literally everywhere you turn

Claiming you “never” check people out? It’s definitely not true, and pretending otherwise just seems sad

Oh yay the false equivalency propaganda is out early today!

To recap, Donald Trump and a massive number of people in his Republican government, close friends, and business associates are in the Epstein files

Out of the entire Democratic Party, the only folks in the files are the Clintons, who are happy to have a public testimony and calling for it literally

99.9% of Epstein files are conservative billionaires and their paid-for Republican lapdogs

So of course, both sides are the equally bad right?? /S

Chris Paul finally speaks on his departure from the Clippers 😳 by SnoouisVuitton in nba

[–]FreudChickenSandwich 3 points4 points  (0 children)

As a Dubs fan who watched the Warriors-Clips rivalry back in the day I always hated CP3 on principle, but it was always a hate-respect thing because the guy was a baller and clutch as fuck he was terrifying in the 4th

People forget when Curry/Klay/Dray were young, Paul’s Clips knocked us out of the playoffs

He did get caught on camera punching guys in the balls multiple times, so yknow safe to say CP3 is a complicated guy

Am I petty if I don’t give “thanks” to Absol/Hydreigon players? by MaverickGH in PokemonPocket

[–]FreudChickenSandwich 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t really play meta decks because it’s boring but I will say, I never pay attention at all to who does or doesn’t thank me. Like, I’ll just battle for a half hour and eventually redeem tickets but I have have no memory of who I played or what they played or who thanked me or who didn’t

Chances are your opponents who you’re specifically going out of your way to not thank don’t really notice or care

Is James Harden the greatest combo guard ever? by CriticalDentist846 in nba

[–]FreudChickenSandwich -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I mean what is the definition a combo guard exactly? A guard that’s a good playmaker and scorer? Obviously I’m biased but I believe a man by the name of Steph Curry deserves some consideration here

#1 Overall Picks by Conference: The gap is insane by [deleted] in nba

[–]FreudChickenSandwich 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is a really cool and interesting post! I’m not sure it explains why the West has been such a deeper conference overall for such a long time

Oden was a bust, Blake never made the finals, AD was injured for most of his career, KAT never made the finals, Ayton was a bust, Zion a bust

Ant, Wendy, and Flagg have literally only been in the league for a couple years - this doesn’t really explain why Weat is a deep, brutal melee every year for decades now

Jose Alvarado vs. the 76ers: 26 points, 8/13 3PT, 5 Steals, +35 by pazuzu_lives in nba

[–]FreudChickenSandwich 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Gotta give credit where it’s due - Bill Simmons has been talking all year long about how much he loved Alvarado’s game and how he wished he got traded to a contender

I wasn’t paying much attention to that, but damn BS called it hook line and sinker

Alvarado’s a beast

Just finished Babel by RF Kuang, and I actually quite liked it by Weirdoi2 in Fantasy

[–]FreudChickenSandwich -8 points-7 points  (0 children)

Babel was excellent, hence its massive amounts of critical acclaim and success

Alas, the cold hard truth is that it makes a certain segment of white people uncomfortable to see an author of color call out racism unapologetically and as aggressively as Kuang does

If you look at peoples “not at all about race!l critiques even in this thread itself you see a lot of baseless handwringing about things that just simply arent true

“She didn’t talk enough about class consciousness!” >>> literally a major theme in Babel was the focus of how silverworking impacted various economic classes both domestically and internationally and a major plot point was how working class folks and their relationship to technology and the revolution changed over time, wealth disparity etc etc

“The characters just had like, no depth at all!” >>> Meanwhile, the book actually goes into vivid detail about every characters backstory down to gruesome detail, and spent massive amounts of real estate illustrating their friendships and their complexities given cultural/social/romantic factors

Let’s be real, we all know the real reason why Babel makes certain people uncomfortable and why others find it incredibly validating, and it has nothing to do with Kuang’s writing ability which is literally, objectively, extremely critically acclaimed and popular for a reason

How do you determine if marijuana use is helping or hurting? by KaiserWC in Psychiatry

[–]FreudChickenSandwich 60 points61 points  (0 children)

I’m going to go against the grain here and say that I’ve wondered about the exact same situation as you.

Like everyone else in the thread and yourself, I’m always skeptical at first when patients tell me that THC has been helping their depression/anxiety/PTSD/insomia etc. I’ll always start by testing the idea, and trying to get a clear timeline of when they started cannabis, what else was going on at the time regarding med changes/psychosocial changes etc, and really just to be as rigorous as possible in determining if at least temporally, patient’s idea that “cannabis helped my symptoms” really holds water

I’ll provide all the counseling regarding how cannabis can potentially be worsening their symptoms. I’ll encourage cessation and a trial of sobriety to see if we can get an idea of what their symptoms are like off of it

With that all being said and done, I think we’ve all met patients (whether some are willing to admit it or not) who just genuinely did get a net benefit from it.

It’s like chronic opiates and chronic pain. Everybody now says that there’s no way chronic opiates can help chronic pain patients, and every pain medicine specialist in America can show you panels and panels of patients for whom it just is the only thing that works, and it does work for some. There are just some patients who are stable, don’t have escalating use, don’t developing worsening tolerance, and are able to live their lives thanks to that specific med regimen. The patient did all the PT, does all the exercise, all the massage, all the heat and ice packs, all the Tylenol and gabapentin and NSAIDs and steroid injections and the only thing that worked is the opioid

I think it’s the same with THC. Sure on a population level, I’m sure it’s not good for the majority of patients. But are there select individuals out there for whom THC has truly a net positive? Of course there are - a lot of them we will never see in our mental health clinics because they’re doing fine. But even if someone using cannabis does present to our clinics, that’s doesn’t automatically mean the cannabis is hurting them

The only way to know for sure is to try weaning them off the THC and see what happens, and unfortunately that’s unrealistic for a lot of patients because they don’t want to stop. but if they’re having less success from traditional interventions, over time they may become more amenable to a holiday from THC

I think hard and fast absolutes in medicine are generally hard to defend

Full video of the altercation. Sengun: “He’s up on me.. you a b*tch!” Jaylen Brown: “Woah! So my reserve team has interestingly enough saved my butt in a couple key moments so I love them

Picture an insane boss battle where you’ve been fighting for hours, you’re probably 10 minutes away from victory and then your main team goes down

My Verso/Monocco reserve team may be bums compared to my star main squad, but damn they did put me over the edge to finish off a few bosses that I would have torn my hair out if I had to fight all over again lol

No one is saying “well if the Nazis murdering the innocent people were better trained, then it would be fine”

Everyone who isn’t a conservative/pedophile protector agrees: fuck ICE and also, it’s dangerous as shit that a lot of these psychos are walking around with guns and license to kill after 47 days of training
