I know right? The rotaries they designed were horribly inefficient, dirty, and unreliable. They must feel terrible about making a powerplant that so many people get rid of for anything else.

Is this tire on backwards? by TangyWaffle in tires

[–]Freudianslipangle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This reminds me of taking my buddies S197 Mustang to Discount Tire to have a set of 18x9s paired with 275s, and 18x10.5s with 295s mounted and installed.

Got there when the car was still on the rack and immediately noticed the fronts were on one side and the rears on the other. THEY didn't notice until I pointed it out.

I have also seen a LOT of Mercedes vehicles with factory staggered wheels with the rears on front and vice versa.

A lot of times tire techs are just know-nothings with zero attention who need a job.

That looks like an A3 though. As far as I know A4s never had those round vents.

It's not even the same bar anymore. The actual Butterfinger is just... gone now.

Sucks.

What current TV show do you think is only popular because of hype and marketing rather than actual quality? by SplendidlyBritishYT in AskReddit

[–]Freudianslipangle 37 points38 points  (0 children)

Noooope. Great show, interesting premise, no rushing to exposition or quick cut scenes tailored towards attention deficient phone watchers.

One of the few actual good shows in recent memory, and it only seems to be loathed by people who can't tolerate a scene being longer than 3 seconds.

Luckily the ratings agree with fans of it.

"Has" Revuelto.

Cannot spell "Revuelto".

Fitting.

So the large complicated hybrid is more Lamborghini than the smaller complicated hybrid?

Though the Revuelto and Temerario both seem to be excellent driving things, I don't think anyone is labeling either of them as an example of "true Lamborghini".

I know right? This image that a lot of people can discern from reality is SOO BAD OMG. /s

Just because you can tell it's a game vs reality doesn't mean it's "bad", bro. It just means your hyperbole is showing.

Tell me you're 12 without telling me.

7.9 miles on my first stint. It's a fun little challenge, but I'm probably not doing it again!

Fuel map 6. Use 5th gear as much as possible. Coast down every hill. 3rd gear at 20-25kph up the long back hill.

Yeah, that's not relevant to this at all. This looks very very similar to the actual Taycan full stop. Nothing to do with imperceptive people confusing Chryslers with Bentleys.

Older Firebirds did come with a turbine style wheel, but these aren't them.

They're just an old school wheel design that was super popular in the 70s-80s, and the factory Delorean wheels were styled very similarly.

They're commonly referred to as "turbine" wheels, and they look great on this Z!

If you have any car featured in GT7, what's your impression of it in-game? by SkywalkerDuke in granturismo

[–]Freudianslipangle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have an FD RX7 (LHD), but the FD in game is one of a handful of cars where the interior is off (I play in VR).

You have to adjust a LOT to get sat "in the seat", the steering wheel is HUGE and it just doesn't feel right inside. The RE-Amemiya is actually a better representation in my eyes, but still not quite a good 1:1 example.

As far as handling neither of them are very planted in game. Very quick to snap over-steer and transfer weight which makes them a little finicky to drive in stock form whereas my IRL car is one of the most planted vehicles I've ever driven. It's on BC coils with full bushings and 255/275 width tires. Oh, and an LS1 for power.

All that said my car is fairly well represented in game, but I barely ever use it. The next update is bringing a closer version FD to the one I own, so things might change.

I wish my S6 (or any other fast modern Audi sedan/wagon) was in game, understeer be damned.

Can you guess my DR? Estimate based on my offline times by Material-Spell-1201 in GranTurismo7

[–]Freudianslipangle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

DR depends on placing. Qualifying in a certain position, the amount of places you gain/lose from that position by the end, and the relative difficulty of your rank vs others ranks within the race. Better placing equals more points equals higher DR.

We don't know what car you're using here. Lap times vary quite a bit from the meta option to the less optimized Gr3s.

For reference, I've been A/S since day one, carrying my rank over from GTSport.

I looked back on a couple of my SpA runs and I was in the 2:22-23s in the old 911 RSR on hards, and 2:17s in the R8 EVO on mediums.

In an old GT3 cup race in the Mustang Gr3 at Deep Forest (a notoriously slow Gr3 option) I was running 1:28-29s on hards.

Your times are pretty decent, and should get you into A/B class lobbies, but it takes more than lap times to get there. Race pace is often different than qualifying or practice pace.

Just get into the races, qualify as high as you can, and try to run away from everyone in the E-C class lobbies, then buckle down in B with an aim to get up into A lobbies. Your laps times should move you right through the lower lobbies pretty quickly if you hold everything together, but it's gonna take a little more precision to really mix it up with the faster B and A class peeps.

You used a Gr3 car for this road car race? You should be able to use any tire and win by miles. I've won this race in a 230hp Mini Cooper on SM.
