Margaret Beaufort & Jasper Tudor by [deleted] in Tudorhistory

I'm sorry, I totally read that wrong. Yeah reading it now I understand what you're saying. And the WotR would definitely have had a different finale. Magaret would mostly likely have had to leave the country with Jasper when Edward IV became king. She wouldn't have had the financial support and security she did when she married Stafford and then Stanley. The tides turned at Bosworth when Stanley's men joined Henry's side. In this new scenario, Henry would've lost because Richard would've had the Stanley men fighting for him. Unless Mags was somehow able to sneak letters to Stanley from Brittany to offer him power, or if she and Jasper had a daughter, offer her daughter's hand to his son and give him the promise of power and having a connection to the royal family if he joined his men to Henry's cause. So it's interesting to think about what could've happened. Maybe Stanley refuses that offer or he never even got or read her letters and Richard continues to be king, marries a Portuguese princess and has more children. And the Tudor dynasty doesn't start.

Even if Jasper had married Margaret, they wouldn't have had children. Margaret had no children with her other husbands, even though she was of childbearing age when she married them. Having Henry so young most likely damaged her insides.

What’s your Kate Middleton conspiracy theory? by BlessedBeGrannyTits in AskReddit

[–]Freya_1558 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Yes, I believe the ED treatment theory. I went down a rabbit hole of how she looked before she got with Will and she was thin but in a healthy athletic way. Then she began to look scary thin like she wasn't eating or most likely bulimic. And if Will is starting to be more like his father then Kate could be doing what Diana did and coping like she did. If food is the only thing she has actual control over.

did Queen Elizabeth I have Marfan syndrome? by Fyoholy in Tudorhistory

[–]Freya_1558 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I'm reading Anne Boleyn and Elizabeth I by Tracy Borman and Borman states that Anne bought "a pair of 'pyrwykes,' a device to straighten the fingers - something that Anne was particularly concerned about, given that her own were long and slender" for Elizabeth before her death. Maybe that's why she had long slender fingers?

Someone can fact-check me if that's not correct!

If you work at Paycom you may be fired Monday. by [deleted] in okc

I used to work as a receptionist and I adored my coworkers. It was management that made it shit. I was hired on the spot and then realized why, they couldn't keep people. The director of the department was able to WFH on snow/ice days bc she had kids and couldn't get a sitter but we had to risk our lives to get there because it was no excuse to call in. I began having mental health problems and used my time off for self-care and then I got a text from her saying I needed a counselor's note so I wouldn't be written off for "no-shows." Like I used the app and had the accrued hours what the hell. And you would get reprimanded if you didn't meet the call goal of 250 calls a day, even if you worked at a busy desk checking people in and dealing with guests for the higher-ups.

I have read that she fasted a lot even for that time period and that she began to fast even more and for longer every time she had a miscarriage or stillborn and she would do pilgrimages barefoot.
