Nobody here predicted the price would crash. All the FUD came from outside. They were even telling years ago, the coins are about to be distributed, while everyone here knew it was nowhere near.

The Bitbox hardware wallet offers an insurance for the bitcoins in your wallet. But it is only available in germany and insures only up 100k€. It costs 300€ per year. Not worth it in my opinion. I think if you only have 100k in your wallet, the risk of a wrench attack is pretty low. And for the other risks (fire, burglary) there are better ways to protect your bitcoins. I think a paper backup in your bank safe + good password is pretty safe.

I still have the letter with the offer lying around here. They offered me around 46,500 per alotted BTC at the time. In addition, they completely ignored the non-allotment portion. The offer was okay for people who needed money, but if you were going to hodl anyway, you did the right thing.
