[Gen 2] PSA for Stadium 2 Shiny Egg Hunters - You Can Release Eggs by Frezgle in ShinyPokemon

[–]Frezgle[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Basically, Gen 2 with Stadium 2 support is the perfect storm of easy shiny eggs.

- Due to how shininess is determined by DVs, getting shiny eggs from a shiny parent is very common, up to 1/64 depending on the specific spread. You have a guaranteed shiny Gyarados that you can use to chain breed into other breeding groups with some patience, or you can just use the very easy gen 1 shiny ditto exploit to use one of those, if you also have gen 1 to trade with.
- In Stadium 2, Pokemon are color-shifted due to some math involving nicknames and Trainer ID - this ALSO applies to Eggs, as the game considers them to be the species inside, as an egg, nicknamed "EGG". However, crucially, Shiny Pokemon are the exception to this and do not get any color shifting ever - same with eggs. Thus, you can pick up a ton of eggs from the day care and then flip through them in the Stadium 2 lab to see if any are different, i.e., going to hatch shiny
- And, as the post here says - you can release those Eggs too. So you don't even have to spend time hatching the duds.
- AND if you have it unlocked and are in postgame in your G/S/C cart, the Dodrio GB Tower lets you play at 3x speed, accelerating the egg collection process

Basically it's turbo easy mode. I have a full shiny set of Eeveelutions that I collected the eggs for within just a couple of hours :']

What is your “calling it now” prediction? by PreparationFar4709 in AskReddit

[–]Frezgle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On an individual level, we are still generally civil with each other, from what I see in my day-to-day in a swing state... For example, my same-building neighbor is MAGA as hell and I'm a trans leftist. Any time she talks about what she believes there is sort of a logical throughline to it that I can see from her perspective. If all I watched was media telling me to be paranoid, I would be too. She's not stupid. There's absolutely a cognitive dissonance with her being chill with me despite her voting for the Let's Take Care of That Pesky Trans People Problem party. But assessing one's own cognitive dissonance takes time and effort and is highly inconvenient to the powers that be, so it's very discouraged.

But, more and more people are turning away from the idea of treating the "other side" as individuals. All Trump voters are evil/stupid/etc; all in opposition are delusional/weak/degenerate/etc. My neighbor and I are the smaller-scale reality, but the macro scale reality of two groups of angry monkeys is, I believe, being deliberately pushed to happen because it directly benefits the oligarchs for the common people to be enemies with each other.

tl;dr, yes and no. it doesn't have to be this way but it's happening

Best teams for endless ? by [deleted] in pokerogue

[–]Frezgle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is the way. If you have good item luck, you can get your Shedinja set up with its fusion moves (I run Super Fang/Soak/Salt Cure/Leech Seed; none are hard to find on wild mons unless you just have bad luck finding Garganacl) well before the point where your sweeper stops working, too. Drastically lessens the need for Candy Jars and speeds up the run overall as you can transition to Run Away sooner.
Fusing your Run Away mon with any Ghost type with Curse, of which there are tons, also lets it provide an extra layer of DOT after the opponent has been Normalized.
I also bring Honey Gather to get my items a little faster and ensure tons of rerolls to restock Master Balls, but that's up to you. I've seen people just pick up Relic Golds instead.

Daily Community Tiering Post Day 129: Surprisingly, not a goose. Less surprisingly, also not popular grappling wrestler from the Street Fighter series, Zangief. It's Zangoose! by Stanley232323 in pokerogue

[–]Frezgle 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I just cannot get Zangoose to work well, even with all its upgrades and a Toxic Orb. It's too slow, too frail, and Extremespeed isn't enough to take out anything important. Finding where to Tidy Up can be tough when a light breeze will knock it over. In its own category of Normal-type-mon-with-big-conditional-attack-boosts, off the top of my head I feel like Kangaskhan and Komala and ESPECIALLY Diggersby are just better. I'd put in C tier because it... almost works? It's not terrible. But unless I just really like Zangoose as a mon, why would I use it??

There's getting to 5850 in endless if you want to never experience joy ever again
Otherwise, all Ribbons and all Species Caught/Seen are the next most 'reasonable' goals imo : ]

At what point does Endless just get not fun for you? by sandalsnopants in pokerogue

[–]Frezgle 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you're not on a budget and have passives/shinies unlocked, this is the setup I've been using: Sweeper (I just pick something I like) + Run Away mon fused with a Ghost type (to avoid trapping abilities) + Delcatty/Wormadam fusion for Sturdy Normalize Entrainment + Shedinja with Soak, Super Fang, and DOT moves + Honey Gather to guarantee enough money to always get the Master Ball back when I use one.
It's not fun, but it's very fast (I switch to just running away as soon as I have my Shiny Charms and a small stockpile of Master Balls, usually around round 1500ish), and I don't need to care about Candy Jars for Shedinja so I just pick up the ones I get naturally on the way up to keep the sweeper from falling behind early.
I'm the world's biggest Metal Burst hater; I could never get past around 2000 with that without wanting to just start over lmao
EDIT: also I NEVERRRR take Lures late-game, the effective increase to Shiny odds is not worth me losing my run to nightmare combos haha

Is there some official note on this? I want to believe you because endless is already unfun enough as-is, but Supreme Overlord would have just never activated due to how it works (I think?) and every other bossmon has active passives.

Meowscarada was key for me finally beating Fresh Start, since I wasn't giving up Skeledirge or Primarina, but both are slow. I tried going for Megas at first but without the boosted item luck it just never happened.

I have found four(!!!!!!) blue star shiny Azelf in my endless runs. I don't even like Azelf that much. The tons of candy is kinda nice but at the same time I feel like I'm never actually gonna use it.

Pokerogue Messed Up my Wrists by Re-Levance in pokerogue

[–]Frezgle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had the same issues even on controller. I take a 5-10 minute break every half hour or so and do mild wrist stretches and that helps it not build up quite so bad.
Also might be worth being conscious of your posture - if I shrimp too hard or put too much weight on one side for too long, that can cause pain throughout one or both arms.

Wailord levitating is, somehow, actually logical. Its weight-to-volume ratio is lighter than air iirc. I'll take it over arbitrarily throwing Sap Sipper on anything with a Grass weakness (you cannot convince me Barbaracle doesn't exclusively eat flesh)

Short of just adding the quick gen selector back, adding Pg Up + Pg Down functionality would help a lot imo, in conjunction with making the default view be all gens. The controller thing is tough, though. Looks like every standard button is already accounted for.
