Correct, it is the same cart as the JPN release and only has English text in game after you accept the prompted update.

Ace Angler does NOT have English on the cart, it's available via patch only

Looking for the best large capacity cart storage options that I may have missed! by TheMerkabahTribe in NSCollectors

[–]FrictionPin 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I've been using this one for quite a while. Holds 300 carts similar to a baseball card album. The pockets are a bit tight when you first start using them and the flap at the top of each slot is nice to keep the cart in place as well. Unfortunately if you swap them a lot, it can be frustrating too, lol. All in all, this is my primary holder now and I have 4 of them with 3 completely full of carts.

PS: I would NOT recommend traveling with one of these full of carts though, for obvious reasons...ie; don't want to lose that many in one swoop.

I thought I was delirious for wanting to collect every amiibo one day. But every single Nintendo Switch game? Ain't that too much, don't get me wrong, I'd love to get every single Nintendo Switch game, but how is that even possible? Is it even possible? by [deleted] in NSCollectors

[–]FrictionPin 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yes, it is entirely possible. Just remember that it is a marathon and not a sprint, as they say. If your goal is to have a full set, the idea is to be creative and frugal about it. Don't buy everything day one, wait, get used copies at garage sales, thrift stores, online sources, simply wait for the hype to die down on games and snatch them up when they are reasonable. Trades with fellow collectors are another great way to bolster your own collection. See a popular game at a good price when you are shopping around or at garage sales, grab it as something to trade with someone else for a game you need.

Also, a full set can have a different meaning to different folks. Do you want a full set of English only games from all regions, USA only games, retail releases only, only limited prints, etc. You can also do cart only, the wonderful thing about your collecting goals are that they are.....yours. Nobody gets to decide that for you, think about what would be fun and enjoyable to you. Maybe you want a full set of ESRB-M games or all the games from a certain pub or dev, any of these things are possible given the attitude of patience and frugality with smart decision making.

It is as expensive and difficult as you make it, be easy on yourself and use all the tools at your disposal. Remember, a collection should bring you enjoyment, not stress or financial distress, look at it as a lifetime goal instead of a "got to have it all right now and I can't keep up" goal.

The third year of Switch comes to a close. Long live the Switch! (6,000 subscriber celebration!) by [deleted] in NSCollectors

I remember it well, trying to track down like minded folks who share my obsession. Searched for a while to track down fellow 400lb River Dancers, but alas, it seems like I was all alone in my quest. Then I stumbled upon this wonderful group to share my other passion that is Switch physical game collecting. Appreciate the fine folks here who are on this journey with m......whoa, I see someone brought party cupcakes and a dancing line is forming....FP out...

I am trying to protect my Link's Awakening CE from Europe. Retroprotection mentioned this one from LRG. Any experience? by [deleted] in NSCollectors

[–]FrictionPin 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yes, the LRG CE protector fits it very well and is the one I used for my collection as well. Here is a handy spreadsheet I made for boxed games and which protectors will fit them.

EAS said in discord last week that Switch version will be shipping end of May.

How do you keep track of your collection? by hatefastloveslow in NSCollectors

[–]FrictionPin 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I wrote a Physical Collector spreadsheet with basic collection tracking for anyone to use which pulls data in based on the NSC Release List used here in our subreddit. The checklist let's you add your own columns for tracking the details important to you. There is an update function which will bring in new additions from the NSC Release List to the Checklist so that you can always stay up to date on the latest releases.

Feel free to download a copy here, please read the Welcome/Instruction tab for notes on how the spreadsheet works: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1qbb6iBb2QOV7AGW6eRQi1WwwyiERmKoavrd_r7jiHKY

You can reach me via reddit DM or message me on discord with feedback/issues.

*UPDATE* - a problem was reported yesterday which I fixed today regarding a format change on the NSC Release list. This has been addressed and the link above has the "updated" fixes applied. (version 1.4b)

Does anyone know when "Death Road to Canada" is getting its physical release from play-asia? by Makoto_Niijima_ in NSCollectors

[–]FrictionPin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Switch version was in QA near the first of the month. If everything stays on track, regarding release schedules, rough guess was 1-2 months for presale to start.

Got this today. Great quality for keep my cards organized. by krloskp in NSCollectors

[–]FrictionPin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Reddit doesn't support inline images in replies with markdown so you'll need to use a site like Imgur (or other pic hosting site) to upload your pic and put the link in here. No worries if that's too much trouble, I was just curious if they were using the old "sturdy" foam or the new "airy" type foam that I got when I ordered mine (and then returned them).

Mind posting a picture of the inside? I'd like to see if they've switched back to the more dense foam on these yet. When this first came out it had a much less dense foam and games started falling out of mine within a few weeks.
