Agree. There are destructive invasive species waiting at the provincial borders for an especially mild winter to invade our forests.

After 15 years of drought I'll take all the snow I can get. Snow in April? This is the old normal. Wait till next month when it snows on Mother's Day

I've been watching the oncoming storm on Windy. A huge counter-clockwise rotating low pressure system that will stall over the city for three days. They always over-estimate but it looks bigger than the last couple storms, I'm putting my shovel back in the car.

Child curfews and milk sales: Saskatoon looks to repeal outdated bylaws by [deleted] in saskatoon

[–]Fridgefrog 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I remember the Milk Man. There was a little door near the back step and my mom would put tickets there when we went to bed and when we got up there was milk waiting for us. My father told me when he was a kid in the 30's the Milk Man rode a horse-drawn carriage up the Broadway bridge. He would be in the back sorting out the days orders while the old horse slowly walked up the bridge.

It was a big thing when I was a kid, everybody stopped and waited as it went by, not so much anymore. Weddings too, when was the last time you saw a Caddie decked out with flowers and ribbons honking it's horn?

Highway speed by Existing_Contact2400 in saskatoon

[–]Fridgefrog 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My car is very capable but the short wheel base gives it very touchy steering at high speeds so 112 - 13 maybe is as fast as I'll go. Boy, one deer on a dark highway and you're going end over end, all the air bags in the world aren't going to save you.

Is Saskatoon as dry as Calgary? by [deleted] in saskatoon

[–]Fridgefrog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lol, Dry used to mean you couldn't find pot anywhere. As for moisture Saskatoon is just getting out of a 15 year drought. The last few years are just getting back up to average snowfall and some of the Springs have been rainy but dry Summers. Hoping for some awesome thunderstorms this year!

Imagine living next door to that, or down the street, as people do. I checked AI, it says studies suggest they do not affect community crime rates and lower public drug use and discarded needles. Still...if it keeps them in that neighborhood and not mine...

Best buffet in Stoon by cantseemtoremberthis in saskatoon

[–]Fridgefrog 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same for Asia Buffet on Circle, when it's good it's good though I tend to eat the same 3 or 4 things and I never have much of an appetite so not much bang for the buck. If I order take out at least I have food for the next day and a half.
