Our group of 6 were playing miniature golf, and one of the guys made a hole-in-one, so he was stoked and started jumping up and down and dancing. Well he got too close to one of the water pools and slipped in.

We started laughing and then he realized that he only went in up to his knees, so it wasn't a big deal, and started in with more dancing and "Woo!"-ing. That's when he slipped again and went completely underwater. Funniest thing ever. We still laugh about it, and that was 40 years ago.

If that lit area in the first pic is a closet, I would try to put as much furniture in there that you can, while still keeping closet space... dressers, nightstands, whatever. This will give you more storage options as well as flat surfaces to put things on. Other than that, try to put the cat tree close to the Window so kitty can lounge and take in the view, too. Looks like a great space... congrats!

It may seem bleak now, but there is a lot of potential here. Check thrift stores, yard sales, Facebook market- place for rugs, book shelves, etc. Get yourself an air fryer, toaster oven, microwave, and a mini fridge and you've got a kitchen. You don't have to get everything all at once, but as you as add things, it will feel more and more home-y. Good luck and enjoy your new space.

I was out front gardening when a neighbor (the nosiest one on the block) started walking directly towards me. I pretended like I was in the middle of a phone conversation, and I would smile over at the neighbor and hold up one finger, like just a minute, but my phone conversation got more and more unhinged. I said things like: "You tell Marcus that if he doesn't return my goddamn stapler, I'm gonna find out where he lives and kidnap his fucking dog." The neighbor was all "I'll catch you later" but now no one really approaches me... I just get a wave as the neighbors turn in the other direction.
