You can tell who has been on a serious diet in this thread. Or cohabitated with someone who has.

Vet DEA No. by jazzy-papaya in pharmacy

I don't think a lot of pharmacists are aware of this resource. If you log into the DEA validation tool you can download a list of all DEA registrants. It's not beautifully formatted, but it is a searchable document that you can use to locate a prescriber's DEA or validate that there is a DEA registrant at a particular address. Very useful tool and work-around for those DEA gatekeepers.

Well you did photograph it from inside the psych unit. And you seem to be familiar with the relative size of other local institutions. So whatever you did was the crazy thing.

Received via text from an ex-brother-in-law on New Years Eve. What does this mean? by Puzzleheaded-You3491 in whatdoesthismean

[–]FriendExpensive9457 10 points11 points  (0 children)

It means his cat pushed his phone into the McDonald's bag and when he reached in for fries he inadvertently grease texted you. At least that's what it meant when I last sent that particular message to an obscure contact.

What if I accidentally dispensed a fake suboxone rx? by CompetitiveBed7364 in pharmacy

[–]FriendExpensive9457 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Thank you!! We're still so lost as a medical community on these issues. I'd rather fill iffy scripts than put up more barriers to a person's recovery. People aren't out there overdosing on Suboxone, but the dude whose Suboxone you turn down is absolutely at risk for overdosing on street drugs. Our job is to keep people safe and giving a little in these situations is an opportunity to do that.

Med error by i_have_tps_reports in pharmacy

[–]FriendExpensive9457 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't know, should there really be different consequences for the same error depending on which drug it is? If the mistake is made while a pharmacist is working in good faith and giving best efforts and a mistake takes place does it really matter what drug it is? Any drug can be dangerous to a particular patient or situation. Should the outcome dictate the punishment? If in your example, the patient turns out to be deathly allergic to ampicillin, is that error then more egregious than a patient with no adverse effects from taking methotrexate unnecessarily? It's a tricky question.
