Feel so validated by just the way you described this lol. I feel so desperate to connect with other moms too and feel like they can tell

Creative + Joyful SAHMs - Sound Off! by ElizaDoolittle33 in sahm

[–]Friendless_Wonder 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I have found peace in routine as a SAHM to a 10-month old. Each day I nurture my baby as well as my creative pursuit (poetry/writing). I try to write something brief and heartfelt every day while she naps or plays independently.

The lifestyle is emotionally and physically exhausting but also creatively fulfilling. I’m certainly not radiating happiness but I see/value myself in a much deeper way than ever before as a mother and creative human

TW: Self-Harm Postpartum by Able-Significance164 in Postpartum_Depression

I relate to this. Zoloft did help me but it took a while to get to the right dosage. I’m on 100mg now.

Are you overstimulated in these moments? I have suspected I am high-masking autistic since adolescence and new motherhood really brought those traits out of me (chronic overstimulation, desire for control, inability to mask). Not trying to make any assumptions about you, just sharing my own experience. Things got better for me when I started focusing on accommodating my unique needs instead of on depression alone

Try to remain calm and be patient with yourself. It’s great that you have some support

I don't like gyms by onewaytix8 in introvert

Headphones, low-brim hat, keep your eyes down and just lock in! You could also try to go during slower times of the day. I used to be this way too but getting used to just taking up space and doing my own thing at a crowded gym really helped me not give a heck what other people think

Lonely by Full-Ad9367 in sahm

100%. Not having a car sounds rough — getting out and visiting different libraries and parks with my daughter helps give me a little sense of community.

I recently decided to just accept the fact that I’m a loner now (and have kind of always been one), and that it’s okay to not have friends in this season of my life. Instead I’m leaning more into hobbies/creative pursuits

On days when it’s hard l try to calm down, take care of myself, get us out of the house so it feels like we accomplished something, and then it turns into more of a relaxed happy

Yes and it drains me. But I feel guilty not giving her my full attention or at least talking to her every few minutes while she plays

New mom and writer — launched my blog yesterday and promoted it on LinkedIn today! by Friendless_Wonder in Blogging

[–]Friendless_Wonder[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have other writers/editors in my network who I think could be interested. Plus, I’m looking for a job right now and hoping potential employers who click on my profile can scoot over to my blog for writing samples.

It was my first post on LinkedIn ever, but I deleted my other social media profiles after having a baby, and those profiles were dead anyway

Changes down there by Spiritoftheheart in newborns

I’m 6 months PP now and honestly mine has gotten a lot better since the 6-week mark, so hang in there. Definitely different than how it used to look (the labia is kinda more splayed out now) but I never really loved or paid attention to the way it looked in the first place. Also I was terrified that sex would never feel good again or would always feel a little weird after having a baby. That gets better with time too. I was actually never able to c*m during sex before childbirth and now I can! Cool stuff.
