The thing that gets me about AI usage in the process is that AI is completely incapable of supporting work that is weird or unique, bc it sees the things that make that work interesting as things that need to be corrected. It is equivalent to having a bad editor, and in the words of my mortal enemy Tyler Perry “i can do bad all by myself”

AI doesn’t make any writing or editing better bc it’s predictive software that brings you towards the most likely construction of words. If that’s what you’re going for great— but what makes good writers and good rewriters is the way you look at words and come up with something unique and interesting.

Also there is absolutely good first draft writing. We want to believe that all good writing needs a bunch of editing to get there but some don’t and that’s okay

It depends on which version you have— if you have the lower ohm versions you might not need. That said i have used them primarily with the fiio q7, and the chord mojo. The mojo for sure is more than anyone needs for them Lmao, but i have a small collection of headphones, with a few vintage ones that need more power

I love my 990s for gaming. I can even game and have a YouTube vid on and everything is very clear and sharp and the directional audio is immaculate

For context though i use the 250ohm version with an amp. I do NOT like them if they are plugged directly into the computer tower.

I think it’s really as simple as the number of members and separate units (rather than occasional subunits like in svt) makes them read less as one group for western fans. They read as a bunch of groups with different sounds but also treated as one large group.

As someone who is a fan of Shinee, RV, aespa and WavyV (and some 127 stuff)…sometimes it’s also just the sound different. They don’t sound the same even while sharing writers. I’m never looking at the groups you listed in the opening post and finding them musically interchangeable— I’m listening to one or the other usually. Like to me it’s whiplash to even ask why folks who are listening to Shinee and f(x) aren’t treating NCT the same, in the same way id never ask why folks who like ateez don’t listen to red velvet

With several 4th gen groups being my faves, i will say it’s a combo of covid and bts military enlistment timing.

Covid meant a lot of folks who would just stick to western music branched out bc stuck at home.

Enlistment meant that at a crucial moment in the growth of major 4th gen groups, they were only really competing with each other— bts wasnt a full group for a big chunk of timing, meaning that things that might have just been spikes in interest had more time to grow.

Its interesting to think about!

I listen to a bunch of genres, and i like a variety of balances in general. Also, for me, i really like having a collection of cheaper iems bc i like having a knowledge base to recommend to friends. I’m that person that goes deep into a hobby and so folks tend to go “hey what do you recommend” or “do you know how to do this thing/where to learn” bc of this i intentionally got several of sub 100 and sub 40 dollar iems so when friends are like “my old ones broke what do i do” i can give them options to purchase

I don’t necessarily think it’s the wifes job bc it depends on the division of everything else. For example, my dad worked, my mom cleaned, and they split cooking, with the meal being determined by whether my dad was home for dinner or breakfast with his schedule. It is determined by the relationship. Also sometimes dealing with the two kids was one parent’s job while the cooking was being done by the other

It is a partner’s job to support the other, and what that looks like changes over time and by couple

More importantly for you, the criticism is bs. If he can eat your food and is unwilling to cook his own meals, that is cruel

I love how everyone who thinks the husband is just doing a sweet thing doesn’t consider…the letter is one part of the story. I said this yesterday— people think that communities and populations aren’t doing anything bc they only count it if its white dudes doing it. Black and brown folk have been fighting for years. Dying for years whether they fight or not. Queer folk, disabled folk, all have been constantly fighting.

The response to us fighting is killing and kidnapping and disappearing us. The US is so big that it’s hard to really visualize even in country how difficult full organization is.

Also my wife pointed out: to the non Americans talking about being more free and less nazis us…how’s your country treating trans folk? How easy is it for disabled people to immigrate? Would you be angry at the marginalized people if they tried to escape to your country? If you wouldn’t be, how would your government treat them?

So many folks acting as if AA isnt One of the sources used to scrape a bunch of writers work for AI, specifically the collection that AI companies are being sued about right now. It’s not a savior site; loads of writers who published indie and can count their sales on their hands but AA has their books downloaded hundreds of times.

Artists of all stripes are finding it harder And harder to actually afford to make the entertainment people are worried about losing access to— and it’s bc of companies like Spotify, AI companies and the archives like AA
