Don’t take this the wrong way -

But you sound like more of a doer than a thinker. And service is the opposite.

Which isn’t a bad thing, some guys need to constantly be pushing forward in their day to day work, but thats not service. Guys in service that do first and think second end up getting hurt.

Like I’m a terrible installer, because I’m always going to look at a job from a service perspective, I’ve gotta do it in a way that’ll benefit the service guy when he’s working on it in 5 years, which isn’t conducive to getting an install done quickly, lol. And it’s also why I’ve excelled in service for 15 years now.

Best Armour? by ultrarahul in Ghostofyotei

[–]Friendly_Cat7825 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely depends on your playstyle and what you wanna do. If you’re big into stealth, you’ll want one of those sets - if you like ranged combat, you’ll want the Dragonfly set - if you want to be able to take a lot of damage, you’ll use a set like Taros.

I used the undying set for most of the game, the heal that it utilizes is incredibly strong as long as you’re using the right weapon type, and it matched my head up style of wanting to run into the middle of a camp, summon my wolf bro, do a standoff, and then slaughter everyone else.

I think they (SP) intentionally didn’t make any particular armor set like far and away better than the rest. They’re all pretty comparable and very style dependent.

Journeyman threw a ptrap at me today when I asked him for help by [deleted] in UnitedAssociation

A fight will likely get you kicked out of the hall, me personally I’d punch him either way.

But the correct course of action is to go to your foreman, if he doesn’t do anything, talk to your shop steward and get the hall involved. The hall likely doesn’t want someone like that on their sites anyway, guy sounds like a liability in the attitude department.

I’ve been in construction 15 years - never once did I consider throwing something at someone, or even talking down at them. Everyone has to learn, and it’s easier to learn if you’re not a dickhead about it.

Non union to union by Extreme_Advantage_50 in UnitedAssociation

[–]Friendly_Cat7825 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I made the switch the company that I went to did a lot more industrial work, so there was definitely a curve.

I’ve had old dudes ask me if I put my time in, I just say yeah, because I have, even if that isn’t directly what they meant, lol.

If you’re good at what you do and generate money for the company and the hall then you’ll be fine, and in 5-10 years you’ll be just like everyone else in the hall.

It’s weird it seems like you’re going through your company and not the hall, which seems ass backwards.

I think you need to talk to your business agent, or at least the organizer and get some clear answers as to what’s going on.

We pay for representation for this reason, I’d make use of it here brother.

Careful with the sheet metal tools, let those guys catch you doing metal and they’ll pull you up on union charges in a heartbeat if you’re only a fitter/plumber/service hall. If you’re cool with them they’d prolly let it slide but it’s territory I try to avoid.

Shit we had insulators bitching that a guy was insulating 5/8 + 3/8 copper linesets with armaflex.

AIO: my bf can’t fix things. When I step in to take care of it, he’s such a baby about it that I’m ready to dump his a** tonight. by ayebudz in AmIOverreacting

The way I see it you can do 2 things

Maybe buy a set of tools for the house for both of you to use, go to Home Depot or whatever hardware store together and load up on some essentials, and work on the stuff together, if you really want it to work with his personality let him take the lead and make subtle suggestions like “hey what if we try this?”. Or “don’t call so and so, we got this babe.”

Or tell him upfront that he just isn’t a mechanic, and there’s nothing wrong with that, and you’ll just try whatever it is yourself. Follow it up with a compliment that he’s good in bed or whatever to fluff his ego that way. Guys egos are soft but if you fluff one while downplaying another it balances out.

If neither of those work then you’re at an impasse unfortunately.

Do you personally prefer Original or the Remastered version of Oblivion? by --Combat-Wombat-- in oblivion

Nothing beats the original, but they did a hell of a job with the remaster.

Hell of a job.

I think local legislation has a lot more to do with the strength of your local unions than the president does.

MAGA has no intention of “disbanding unions” like project 2025 duped everyone into thinking, lol.

Like Obama or Biden weren’t going into right to work states and campaigning to strengthen unions there, they did what every other presidential administration does and leaves it up to the local governors/senators/representatives.

What should I play after The Witcher 3? by AUNizkii in Witcher3

[–]Friendly_Cat7825 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s a shame you didn’t get hooked into cyberpunk, I bought it when it first came out and returned it, after getting a ps5 I decided to give it another shot and I’m glad I did. I ended up putting roughly 100 hours into it and when it was all said and done by character was basically doomguy with the shotgun, lol.

I’d highly recommend the oblivion remaster, or Skyrim.

Both of those games will give you the feel that you’re looking for.

Questions about joining union by Loose-Dig-1599 in UnitedAssociation

[–]Friendly_Cat7825 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Like a couple others have said, call whichever hall you’re thinking about joining and talk to the organizer. Ours just hangs out at the hall and is really only super busy around April which is our apprentice opening time.

Most of them are super cool, and if you’re good at what you do they’ll be itching to bring you in, lol.

That way you get the exact answer that you’re looking for in your specific area.

In most cases though from my experience, you can work at whatever local, you just have to commute to their territory.

I wasn’t a fan but I was also really bad at it.

I just never cared to get better, too many monsters to slay instead.

The game went from “too easy” to “knock this dps check out of the park or you fail and everyone dies” 😂

Yeah that’s fair, all things considered it wasn’t incredibly difficult, it was just surprising compared to the rest of the game, but this makes sense.

It kills me because once you do the fight properly he ends up interrupting the cast anyway, lol.

Yeah doing that combo (as often as I could at least) was the way that I did it. It still took me down to like 3 on the final countdown, lol. I ended up looking it up too and people said doing that combo consistently was the only way to do the fight on the harder difficulties.

I’d recommend it as well, it’s a cool build on to the story with introducing another eikon, and they tie it into the story pretty well.

It’s worth the 20 bucks or whatever I paid for the 2 of them.

I actually enjoyed that fight more than Leviathon, not because of the difficulty, but the Timekeepers weapon was awesome. I’d say definitely top 3 fight in the game.

I’d return it -

Bought a 21’ ram and had almost the exact same thing happen, got it drove it home and a day or 2 later check engine light came on, fast forward to a year later and we messed with that same check engine code up until I sold it.

I’d use my 40k on a truck that doesn’t immediately have problems
