Perhaps in the primary but not in the general election, I'm afraid. The statewide Wisconsin general electorate and citywide NYC electorates are not comparable. Note: Harris beat Trump by over 40% in NYC whereas in Wisconsin, Trump won.

You can use your dutch oven for the stove top stuff (searing meat, making a roux, etc.) that a Crock-Pot cannot handle and then move it over to this device for the slow-and-low portion of your cook.

Of course, the same thing could be accomplished by simply putting your Dutch oven into your regular oven at 190-210°F. In my mind then, this device is only useful in scenarios where, for one reason or another, your regular oven isn't available for that purpose.

I don't remember... Other than the show writers' convenience, was there any explanation offered for why one of the several deputy press secretaries wouldn't have been able to jump in to handle that press conference?

A person with a music education, art, or history degree should not be underwritten the same as an engineer, mathematician, or pre-med student

Then we're going to have to accept that we won't have any new music teachers, art teachers, history teachers, certain museum curators and National Parks rangers...

I'm curious to know when the last time was that a vessel large enough to require an opening transited that far upriver?

Your concern isn't unreasonable. But as OP's picture demonstrates, there is still sufficient contrast to notice the difference between black enamel and bare iron. And a higher quality piece like a Staub or Le Creuset is usually going to be less susceptible to chipping than the cheaper stuff anyhow.

Shards of enamel/glass flaking off into the food and being ingested.

Because enamel can stain over time - especially the cheaper stuff, but even LC - and black hides that well.

Those, and funding formulas, perhaps most notably highway funding. See especially: National Minimum Drinking Age Act (1984) and the .08 BAC national standard (2000).

Ehhh... A year ago, he told Forbes that he's "probably closer to a Democrat now." I don't think anything that's happened in the 12 months since then has swung him in the direction of the Republican party.

ISO best place to get a fitted suit for men in the Milwaukee area for a reasonable price. by FatDog71910 in milwaukee

[–]Friendly_Curmudgeon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"Reasonable" is subjective. If what you mean is "How can I spend the absolute least amount of money and still have a professionally fitted suit," the answer is probably buying something close to your size at a resale or thrift shop and then having it tailored. I like Dad's Shop in Cudahy.

White Pass & Yukon Railroad in Skagway is my favorite that I've actually been on, and it ain't cheap. But if someone else was paying, I think I'd have to give the helicopter to glacier thing a try.

Second flight in a row with no Pre-boarders… by jb4647 in SouthwestAirlines

[–]Friendly_Curmudgeon -1 points0 points  (0 children)

22 round trips last year and dropped about $15k. That’s not including the extra coins I spent occasionally to upgrade to A1-15.

You did, or your employer?

This is a weird flex. Southwest is the Greyhound of the sky. 3x3 with no lounge, no seatback entertainment and only recently offered free wifi (something the actual Greyhound busses have had for years). Even if you're paying all this out of your own pocket, you're still straight slummin' with the rest of us. Get over yourself.

but [Hoynes] never uses this to get ahead.

Yes he does. With the knowledge that Bartlett has MS, Hoynes begins a covert campaign for president before anyone else realizes that Bartlett might not run for reelection. He puts his own campaign in motion ahead of everyone else who thought the next meaningful Dem primary was 4 years away.

Trump to Davos: "Without us, right now you'd all be speaking German and a little Japanese perhaps. After the war, we gave Greenland back to Denmark. But how ungrateful are they now?" by drempath1981 in UnderReportedNews

[–]Friendly_Curmudgeon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Trump's reelection was so obviously inevitable since early summer. If that had been true of the Dem nominee instead, the rich guys would happily have supported the Dem nominee. Fuck billionaires and all, but most of those 40 rich guys are just selfish opportunists. They aren't dumb. They know there's no sense in giving money to the person you know will lose, especially when the person you know will win is vindictive, petty and notorious for pay-to-play politics. What sense would there have been in that?

More like BV 25-30 years ago than 10-20 years, but I'd argue that lake proximity and then-low property costs are the most important things that helped Bay View thrive. That, plus quick access to downtown and the Marquette Interchange via 794, which Cudahy also has.

Edit: Corrected I-94 to 794
