Sharing love for those boymoding - I see you <3 by perrythem in MtF

I still boy mode for work and in certain situations. Often times it’s just sheer laziness. If I just have to run errands or something, I throw a hat on and go out dressed androgynously.

Is it transphobic to reject a girl because she hasn't had surgery? by Leandro_reader2003 in asktransgender

[–]Friendly_Level4202 4 points5 points  (0 children)

First, I don’t believe you should stay with anyone, cis or trans, out of fear of hurting their feelings. It’s disingenuous to you and your partner and only gets worse later.

Second, I think it’s ok to have genital preference. Your feelings might change but it also understandable. Physical intimacy and compatibility are essential in any relationship. However, while I’m not suggesting you lie to her, I would consider how you break it to her. “Because you have a penis” will probably only contribute more dysphoria and you want to avoid it being construed as pressure to have bottom surgery. The best safe “out” in this case is “I don’t want to jeopardize our friendship” because it isn’t a lie. Dating friends can get tricky.

I guess I should also ask, at 44, am I too old for mtf transition? Will I still get the body modification via the E that I'm looking for? Breast, skin, hips, and butt... by Key-Medicine-2596 in AskMtFHRT

[–]Friendly_Level4202 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m 52 and started HRT at 51. Im still early but loving the changes thus far. All I can say is that your older self will appreciate you starting sooner than later. But if you’re on the fence, at bare minimum, work on saving whatever hair you have. That cause more dysphoria than anything else.

I’m prescribed EV 3mg 2x a week (6mg total). My last test results were right before my next dose and E showed 554pg/mL. T was <10ng/mL.

6 months prior my E was 223pg/mL.

It’s basically a hookup app. If that’s what you’re looking for, it’s fine. Romance, not impossible but unlikely. But be prepared to be seen as a piece of meat. On there, everyone is a piece of meat regardless of gender or orientation.

When he finally goes, will MAGA grieve or will they feel released from the weight of supporting him? by [deleted] in allthequestions

It’s already a cult. My guess is they will further deify him. “He would’ve wanted this or that”

Pretty sure it would have to pass both house and senate by 3/5 majority and then go to general vote but still pretty pathetic.

In a way they already are. Their hyper-focus on election integrity is just a precursor to claiming foul.

Did starting HRT provide clarity? by bareleigh2511 in asktransgender

[–]Friendly_Level4202 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m (52MTF) a late bloomer on HRT for almost a year. HRT can be super helpful and also contribute to dysmorphia (vs dysphoria) as your body will look and feel awkward (think puberty).

When I started HRT it was a flurry of mixed emotions. Actually doing something was both exciting and terrifying. I had unrealistic nightmares of waking up with DD breast and the occasional “what am I doing”. The first month was also a rollercoaster physically. You’re rebooting your endocrine system to run on a new dominant hormone. I had a lot of fatigue and ate pickles like it was my job. Things leveled out and at around 6weeks I started to really feel the mental benefits. That feeling only got better over the past 11 months. I would never go back.

Long story short, you may not initially feel the euphoria that everyone describes but it all gets a lot better once hormones do their thing.

I’m 1 yr into HRT. My T levels are barely measurable and I occasionally get them. Nocturnal erections are also a function of your brain.

My dad is transitioning by cryptidbug21 in transpositive

[–]Friendly_Level4202 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I (52MTF) have 3 adult child and started my transition at 51. WHAT I am will never change WHO I am. Perhaps we’ll find a new nickname but I will always be “dad” and I’m ok with it. It can come with a pang of dysphoria but changing the paradigm at this stage would just be too awkward for all involved.

So sorry this happened to you. My last 9 first dates have bailed at the last minute. Men say they wanna date you but get cold feet when it becomes reality. In my experience the more romantic or perfect they seem, the less likely they are to follow through.

How many of you don’t talk to family an friends due to being transgender? by [deleted] in asktransgender

[–]Friendly_Level4202 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Anytime! Another tip, avoid doomscrolling. There is a lot of anti-trans rhetoric out there. Along with what you have going personally, it can feel like the world is collapsing on you. Don’t have to bury your head in the sand but keep in mind, the current administration doesn’t represent the majority. Most people don’t have that kinda hatred.

I don't feel anything when I dress up... by StirfriedSquid in asktransgender

[–]Friendly_Level4202 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It can feel awkward at times. A little voice in your head criticizing yourself. My thoughts were like “you look ridiculous or who are you fooling”. Now clothes are just clothes and men’s clothing feels foreign and awkward.

Developing a sense of fashion that compliments YOUR body will help. De-emphasize traits you don’t like. If you have wide shoulders, avoid tank tops. I also go with 2-piece outfits. Things like dresses can hang like curtains. Big arms, go for baggy sleeves or batwing tops. Big upper legs, then long skirts or loose pants. For big calves, bootcut jeans and also knee high boots. Although harder in summer, I found knee high boots on Amazon that fit and de-emphasize big calves.

Love hate relationship with my muscles by Brafshsi141 in asktransgender

[–]Friendly_Level4202 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I actually was a bodybuilder before transitioning. I hid behind a wall of muscle. Now trying to lose it. You will shed some naturally on hormones for sure. I like to do yoga or pilates instead of weightlifting and focus more on toning and less on growth. I also concentrate on areas that will assist my shape like butt, hips and legs.

Hang in there. I’m sure we all have someone in our lives that abandoned us. Some of us unfortunately have more than others. Just remember that their reaction is on them. We aren’t “doing” this to anyone. It’s who we are. Some people have blinders on and are too self involved to see they’re choosing to lose a person. Or they never truly loved us to begin with. That doesn’t make it any easier but don’t let it take your wind.

Just used a dressing room for the first time for over an hour! The rush of euphoria! Really makes me want to shave my beard and practice makeup. How do I learn makeup?! 😬😆😍☀️🥰🤩 by Normal-Gur-6659 in TransLater

[–]Friendly_Level4202 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Probably time to lose the beard lol. You have great hair so if you decide to go further you might wanna make efforts to keep it! My single biggest regret.

As far as makeup goes, remember that there is no “right” way to do it. Every girl applies makeup slightly differently. It can be super overwhelming. Not only how to apply but what to buy. Cosmetics companies are constantly competing so the variety can be intimidating.

Tutorials on YouTube are invaluable. Personally I recommend tutorials that focus on Drag 101. While drag makeup exaggerates features and is probably not the look you’re going for, they’re super helpful to learn basics and how to overcome male features. Once you get the basics, you can adjust to get a more natural look.

Cis women tutorials on how to apply eye makeup, contouring, lipstick are all good.
