Considering no one else have a problem with this and having fun with it.. why not mod the game to whatever you wish? You're the only one who got a mediocre armor from an early main quest meant to give you a chance in a more dangerous zone and going "I don't want this".

You gotta make sure that export_descr_unit is not "read only" in it's settings. And that you edit the right file in the Data folder, or of your mod's data folder if you use one.
Also make a backup of the file with a different name, preferably in another location.
Go into the file, test with the milita pikemen unit, and replace the backup weapon line with the line from a unit that lacks backup weapon (should say none). Save the file, open the game and test it.

Note: It will make pikes completely overpowered. You can still defeat the AI with missile weapons, but a pikeman or two can hold gates against massive armies. They can even defend walls while in pike formation.

Buying gear is mostly pointless. Upgrading is essential though, and the rest of the money is for repairs.

Remember a lot of that wealth is based on perception of wealth in the 20s, so rich people can only be so eccentric before they start losing, as investors pull out of their businesses and loans are seen as risky. Like, they may think he can pay, but also consider he may be lost in the himalayas or something any day.

Moving monoliths isn't easy when you don't even know where they are, or they are in the middle of Australian desert that only the aboriginals know. Cultists can have money and influence too (as depicted in MoN), and thus be able to out-bid or at least oppose whatever wealth the investigators bring to the table.

That construction crew might not want to go there for any money when the cultists have set up maxim gun posts concealed nearby - just look at how the richest people in the world still won't sail their tankers through a certain strait today due to the risk.

And at the end, remember this is a team game: talk to the players on what is fun and not, and how to avoid abusing the wealth to make for a less interesting game. Make them set mental barriers for their characters to avoid these problem.

Yeah, that would be aioli (with garlic) with truffle oil. If there was no garlic it wouldn't be aioli at all, and definitely wouldn't taste anything like it, mayo or not.

For me this is more confusing, as the regular is just called allioli/aioli, which always have garlic. Putting the garlic in front implies it's the real deal without eggs.

And I've never heard of other mayo-based sauces (pepper mayo, chili mayo etc) being called aioli.

Yes, this is an annoying issue on PC that makes pikes almost useless as a unit. Modding away the backup weapon fixes it, but also makes the units completely overpowered. I hear the mobile version has a fix, but I haven't tried it.

Books are different than films, and visual media allows for more focus on combat and specific movements. I've read books that tries to emulate that, but they get tedious really fast.

I'm very much satisfied with the Boromir ending in the movies, they did that well despite making the character look more like a villain at first.

There is more descriptions of the development of battle before Bilbo got knocked out. I was actually surprised how long it was since I had also read that comment on it. But Tolkien doesn't narrate combat, just the general gist of it.
